I can't buy certain apps from the app store or download anything on my iPad 1 because my iOS is less than 6.0. Is there a way I can upgrade to at least 6.0?

If the spacebar on the keyboard isn't there (with .com and underscore keys etc instead), you're in the URL-typing keyboard instead of the normal one. Try clicking the @ icon in the bar just above the keyboard to change modes. In handwriting mode, it's the same thing...click the @ icon near the left side of the bottom bar.

On the app you want to delete hold it down until the apps starts shaking and a cross will appear in the apps you can delete. Click on the cross and it will say delete "name of app", then select the delete button. Once you have done this, press the home button to go back to normal. Hope this helps.
