When i turn my ps3 on, the red light goes to green for split of second then turn red again. when i tried to do a fan test, there was no respond from the ps3.
Its because you need to connect your console from .the charger..
Try disconnecting your PS3 and then for 10 seconds if that doesn't work, disconnect all jackets meaning all usb connection ports connected in it. Remove them, then turn on your ps3 see what happens (without using the controller), then disconnect the ps3 cord that connects to your extension cord or jacket and plug it back in. Try it again. Then again with the controller could try.
Try disconnecting other ports such as other stuff like as listed, Irons,Fans, etc.

The Same thing happened to me on my Wii though.
If nothing works call Customer Support (SONY)
