Need help look all over and nobody has any answers. My samsung HLP5067 show a green plaid screen all all inputs and channels except for the HD shannels> i use to be able to reset the TV it would fix the problem for a couple of days before I would have to reset it again. Now nothing works and the only channels that I can watch are HD. I've got the same problem with my Samsung DLP. Has anyone got a fix for this? Will Samsung repair the TV? I believe they should since so many people are having the same problem. I have two friends with the same TV...same problem! I tried to look up the part on http://www.ptscorp.com/ and you have to have an account. Where can I get this part?
Are you able to access the on-screen menus (like brightness/contrast etc)?
If those menus are appearing over the green screen, then it might be a cable or image source problem. I've often seen this green screen when the HDMI encryption between my cable box and my TV gets messed up. Only solution has been to power cycle the cable box.
If you can use something other than an HDMI cable to connect your TV to your picture source, I suggest trying that and seeing if you can get SD channels again. If you do get them back, it was a cable issue. If you still can't get them, contact your cable/satellite provider, see if there's something up with their signal.

when the color wheel stops the picture will be all over the place. and you will have lines when it starts to fail as its not going fast enough for the picture. wining sound is it wearing out.
There are some components that have gone bad in the board. It could also be due to moisture inside. Please do not continue to use it and refer it to a qualified service technician.
Likely the "main" board that processes all digital information in and out of the set---Not likely to get fixed in the home or be a do it yourself repair.
You might want to call Samsung with the model number to see if this is a known issue in this model or not.
These are the Tests that should be run to determine which board is bad.You should call a good TV Tech if you are not familiar with this TV.
- The DDP1011 on the DMD board has a feature to display internal test patterns. - DNle, which is an end port in the digital board, has a feature to display internal test patterns. - The analog board sends signals to ADV7402 on the digital board. - The analog board is the first output and the digital board is the second one, followed by DMD, which is the final one. ■ Diagnosis By Module 1. Access Service Mode (In Standby mode, press "Mute", "1", "8", "2" and "Power" to turn the screen on and enter service mode) 2. Check if there is an error in the DMD board DDP1011 → TEST PATTERN → Press the right arrow key: Options of FULL WHITE, BLACK, RED, GREEN and BLUE PATTERN are displayed on the screen. If "Pattern" does not appear, this is a DMD board error. 3. Check if there is an error in the digital board before the DMD. When the DMD board has been determined to be error free based on the test patterns: FACTORY MODE → DNIe → TEST PATTERN normal display: no error in the digital board. If "Pattern" does not appear, it may be from a DMD board or ATI error or there is an analog board malfunction. 4. Check if there is an error in the analog board. Check for a power signal from the analog to the digital boards
You are absolutely correct, When anyone complains of vertical lines or bars, the next step is to see if it happens on only digital inputs ( digital board ) , only analog inputs ( analog board ) , or both ( DMD board ) .
I think what you are describing is a form of line paring which is caused by a defective IC in the video circuit those inputs are feeding. Post a email link ad I will send a pic of a screen that has this problem and you can let me know if thats what your experiencing.
had same problem with ours. at end of one year had green problem and service replaced color wheel. know 1 year after starting to have same problem again. I will not buy this brand anymore.
