over heating its self, it could be a blocked and not getting the right air flow or the sensor for the heat control is on its way out. check the filter if this model has one remove all dust from the intake, check that the fan is working, if the motor has been making any buzzing or funny sounds this can be the problem too. buzzing is the starter motor humming or clicking the motor is failing.
Try twisting the belt in the other direction then slipping it over the silver post. I have made the same mistake, when it's put on backwards it immediately slips off the motor. Good luck, I hope this helps, although I notice you asked the question quite a while ago.
The purifier should be cleaned about once a month and you should do the following:
Unplug the Breeze before cleaning.
Wipe the Breeze with a soft cloth dampened with water, vacuum the front grill to remove any lint buildup.
Cleaning the rear lint screen - You can either vacuum the filter or you can wash in hot water. Allow to dry before reinstalling the lint screen. Do not use soap, it will damage the carbon material in the lint screen.
Remove the purifier plate from the purifier and soak in 1 part amonia and 1 part water solution for 10-20 minutes. Gently scrub the metal grid on the plate with a toothbrush and rinse with water. Clean the metal contacts with the same solution. Allow the plate to dry overnight or use a hair dryer to dry throughly.
Hi, it sounds to me like a relay of some type buzzing? I would see if you can remove the control cover to excess all component's, after you unplug it 1st, and then plug them back in and try and locate this buzzing sound? Funny, both are doing it? They have lasted a decade, and you have kept them up. Let me know if you locate this noise, and we can go from there. Good Luck,Sincerely, Shastalaker7
Fill the water in the basin to the top of the peg in the middle of the basin. (a little over an inch in the 2 quart basin) The Rainbow blows out air just like any other vacuum cleaner does throught the exhaust port. It will blow out there while the vacuum is running if the exhaust port cover is missing. Otherwise, with cover in place, it will blow out air all around the mid section of the canister while it is running.
