Hi,
Sounds like you need a soft or hard reset.
try unplugging the console from the mains for 5-10 minutes, then try turning on re-booting. remove any memory cards et,c. when you startup.

SOURCE: Wifi problems with Wii and Smash Bros. Brawl.

Nintendo didn't anticipate that so many people would want to play SSBB online. The servers are filling too quickly.

If your connection is fine, then the only thing you can do is wait until Nintendo fixes this problem, which will hopefully happen sooner rather than later.

Online matches involving friends (along with their dreaded friend-codes) is supposed to work fine, though.

SOURCE: Wii Freeze Up

Your Wii has probably overheated. Make sure you turn the wii OFF not to standby mode. When you push the power button hold it down until it turns RED not Orange. Once it's RED let it sit for an hour and cool off. Then try and start it up again after the hour has passed. If you don't have any freezing right away like you are now then you know it's a heat problem. Make sure the wii is standing up in the silver base and that it's not closed inside a cabinet or anything. They need air. Don't sit them on the floor/carpet for any reason. Don't have any other electronics around them that give off heat either as it only compounds the heat problems.

Wii console states that it cannot read Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Will your game disc play on your neighbor's console? If it does not, then you might have a bad disc. Take your receipt and the game back to the store, they will exchange a game for the same title, with receipt.

Thanks for using the FixYa forums!

Super Smash Brother Brawl for the Wii platform has a continuous disc read error.

This is a common problem, Super smash brother brawl uses a dual layer disk and a lot of drives have trouble reading it. if you look on the nintendo website they are offering a FREE repair service for consoles with this particular problem

Can't get to main menu for Super Smash Brothers Brawl

try updating your wii firmware, it made me do that the first time i played. if that doesn't work (and hopefully you haven't gotton any Virtual Console Content yet) move all your savefiles to an SD card and reformat your wii

My wii wont load any games

We had similar problems after buying Super Smash Bros Brawl. I noticed that the Wii could read which disc was in the system but could not load it in order to play. This seemed like a shortage of memory to me (but the error message does not indicate a memory issue). I bought a 1 gig sd memory card for the Wii and now it works perfectly. BTW the kid at the Best Buy store did not think this would work, but it did. Good Luck.
