Sansa MP3 player not working. Message says "FAT is corrupted. Please connect device to PC and recover FAT." What does this mean? I've reconnected to my PC, but it has not recovered data by itself.
FAT stands for File Allocation Table. It is basically the table of contents like a book would have. It tells whatever device is using it where the information is stored on the memory. If there is nothing on it that you absolutely need saved, I would connect it to a computer and format the card.

Thanks Shadow 1989,
You are a gem. I didn't know what FAT was, but now I understand. All my music is saved on my pc, so I'll reformat my sansa and then reload my music.
Any thoughts on how I reformat my Fuze? I can find out on line.
