Then the issue is the compressor pulling too much amperage. You need to check the current draw on the compressor and the make sure the wire gauge is the right size.

Hard to tell but in my city, most people changed the laser head or the whole assembly and things are all fixed in such case. The model of the laser head is Sanyo SF-P101N, not sure if the 840C using the same parts in the whole production run, but if one knows how to DIY, might worth a try.

either your controller has had it but my money is on the lead from the controller to the head unit!!

You may be able to visually tell if there is a smoked resistor on Controller board.

i need a remplacement for the screen of my toshiba gigabeat MES60VK (60 GB) Portable Media Player, because it´s absolutly broken.

i have found the part on Ebay (UK) for less than £5, the shop that sells it also suggest replacing the flexible strip that connects that mechanism to the circuit board, the strip costs £2 and replacing it would seem to be a very sensible idea seeing as you have to completely strip the unit to replace the mechanism.

My UD-M31 is in bits on my work bench at present, awaiting the arrival of a new mechanism, i'll post again if replacing it solves the problem.
