Our violet was doing the same thing, as though the on/off paw was pressing all the time. I have just replaced the batteries, and it seems to have fixed it. In one of the manuals I read it says if she is behaving erratically, then replace the batteries, and that the included batteries are for display only. We only had her a month!

I have the same gate and have the paper work that came with it.

If you don't know what PAL and NTSC signals are I would do some reading. It will explain what is happening. You can't use a ntsc device and set it to PAL. It doesn't work like that.

Dog boots offer many benefits:

Yes you can do that but you don't need to replace the DVD Rom.
You need 2 tools: PAL-to-NTSC converter box and a voltage converter. Don't know where to buy these though. Sorry.

The filter is not the reason it's not working. Take out screws and open Power Paw, remove fur from the roller brush on the right side, there is a small gap where fur winds around tightly, cut off with scissors or pull out with a small toothpick.
