Just bought a used leaf blower, homelite, gas leaks out of the gas tank, where the gas tube fits into it.

I bought a used homelite "yard broom" gas leaf blower/vac. The first time i used it, I notice that on top of the gas tank where the gas tube fits into the tank, that it does not seal and gas leaks out. The gas tank sits at an angle when the machine is set down and the gas leaks out. How do I solve that problem

I know the difference between the gas cap and the gas line. the leak is where the gas line goes into the tank, not at the gas cap.

The hose needs replacing there are no seals only the diameter of the hose seals it.

The gas cap on this BL30 repeatedly leaks gasoline. The cap goes tight then releases. Even when tight leaks fluid. it is either the cap or the tank

"top of the gas tank where the gas tube fits into the tank"

I assume you're describing the gas tank cap. if so, the o-ring is missing from the gas tank cap. You can find those at hardware stores.

I'm sorry I insulted you -- just trying to help.

When you wrote the top of the tank, I couldn''t visualize the fuel line going into the top -- oh, well.

Need to know the oil and gas mixture for a homelite yard broom II

The manual probably says 40:1 (3.2oz.oil to 1 gal gas) but if you use a good modern 2 cycle oil,50:1(2.6oz .oil to 1 gal gas) will suffice.

Yard broom leaf blower will not stay running I

It seems that the carb is not getting fuel. It could be a cracked fuel line. The fuel priming bulb could also be cracked/dry rotted. Possibly the fuel pump in the carb is bad. The carb is rather intricate and not something anyone without training should try to repair. The overhaul kit will cost $15 to $20. I suggest you take the blower to a repair shop.

If you go about 32:1 you will be OK. It may be a 40:1 unit, but better safe than sorry if you are not certain.
