open your computer and find the pins(three side by side) near bios battary in which two pins are connected with one jumper & one is free, sort one pin with that free jumper & power on computer after some time power off & set jumper as previous.

It is certainly not ok for it to take so long to show bios.

This usually means there is a hardware conflict at low level (not a broken part)

This can occur if there is more than one disk that it has to look at that it cannot work out (this may be in your case)
you may want to start the system with only one disk in and get i runing from there before adding extra storage.

First, it is possible that the new mainboard has a different chipset on the nic than the last one. Check the driver d/l site for alternate drivers or Contact Dell support to be sure the right driver is in place.

Also, does the nic work if you slow it down or on auto?

I think it was malware in my clients' case. Get back to me if still ng and I'll ask their sysadmin if she remembers.

sounds like a bad mother board, have you taken out the mem and see if it beeps?

The IBM Netfinity 5600 is a complicated beast for sure. You really need to get a copy of the Netfinity Manual from IBM (not on the web site fyi.). It's as big as the machine unfortunately. In section 3, p.124 it lists 3-3-3 beep code as "No memory has been detected in the system" solution is "Reseat mem modules or install mem modules. If prob persists get machine serviced." On the previous page, 3 short beeps (only) on POST indicate "system mem error. combo only occurs when video bios cannot display error msg. replace the failing mem module." You might also want to check the light-path diagnostics inside the machine. A little light will be illuminated right beside the bad DIMM.

The disk that comes with the machine is called the NOS in the manual. It is also known as ServerGuide 6.0.3 which will config your Netfinity up to Win2000 Server. I used ServerGuide 7.3.06 to install Windows 2003 Server. The latest version (IBM ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD v7.4.17) is on the support IBM web site:

Hi , if your dont have any data, try to get the IBM Netfinity CD for 4000r which supporting the OS 2003. Usually IBM provide a cd on each NEtfinity server. Check on the IBM website for more details about your Server Compatibility on 2003 server. then proceed to re-intalled the OS.
