Check your warranty to see if it is within the factory repair period. If not, you need to have a Photoshop pro. do the job. If you try, and you fail, all that is left are parts. Don't take that chance.

SOURCE: lens error restart camera but

Hi

Your lens is defective needs to be cleaned, repaired or replaced. If you got sand in the gears it will definitely jam up the lens! Sometimes you can tear down the lens and clean out the sand, and if none of the gears are damaged the lens will then work properly again.

There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

I know this because I OWN ONE that charges a reasonable price to do the repair! (Google 'darntoothysam')

Just let us know if we can help! Good luck from

SOURCE: Black screen problem with Canon PowerShot SD 750

Did you accidentally press the DISP button on the back of your camera? This manually turns the screen on and off to save batteries. Try pressing this button one more time to see if it turns the screen back on.

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Canon PowerShot SD850 IS all buttons are locked while deleting some images at a time. Please advice me what to do ?

I believe this is normal, that is that you can only do one thing at a time, you may have slow memory, getting faster may help speed things up.

Canon sd850 is cracked LCD screen

Sounds like a cracked LCD screen. You may be able to fix it if you can find a replacement screen. I usually search ebay for a broken camera with other problems that I can cannibalize. Here's some examples on LCD replacement. Don't recommend that you try this yourself, unless you have some experience and are comfortable with electronics.

Otherwise, the cost of professional repair is usually beyond the value of this camera. A better option is to sell the camera on ebay for other repair hobbyists to attempt replacing the screen for themselves. You actually may get a good price for the camera IF it's still capable of taking pictures.

Broken Canon camera

Take it to a camera repair shop to get a quote (the camera should be able to be sent to a repairer through any camera retailer).

When you have the quote - decide whether it is more economical to repair or replace.

Good luck.

ZOOMING PROBLEMS W/PowerShot SD850 IS

Hi

Make sure you are pressing the button half way and getting the 'beep' that the camera is ready to take the picture before pressing the button all the way down.

Also make sure you have good lighting conditions and use the flash if needed.

Last, make sure you are still in optical zoom and not digital... I would suggest turning off digital zoom, I don't recommend using it at all.

Hopefully this helps..

Lenses

Your camera's problem is with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!
