Hi, I have a HannSpree hsg115 tv in my office. When I turn it on, the image starts fine, there's only a white line near the bottom, which I'm guessing is dead pixels or something, but then after a minute or two the bottom half of the screen becomes brighter. Not really brighter, but almost as if I covered with a semi transparent white glass. And its not uniform, it feels whiter/brighter towards the middle. I realize the tv is aging and all, but I feel there's probably something i can do, since it wors fine for a couple of minutes, sometimes even 10 or so. (btw, I'm sorry if this duplicate, but I think my previous question wasn't published, so I'm trying again) Thanks in advance :)

Hitachi did in fact stand behind their product and resolved the problem. My hats off to them! Panel was replaced due to faulty ribbon cable supplying signal from one of the drivers. Unfortunately for my specific issue there wasno other solution as the ribbon cable in sealed inside the glass panel.

YOU PROBABLY HAVE DEFECTIVE LCD PANEL THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE IT IS THE MAIN BOARD OR THE LVDS CABLE

I hate to say it but what this is is contamination under the actual LCD glass. This propblem starts during the manufacturing process and can rear its ugly head over time or after running at high temperatures for long periods of time. It can also appear as dark 'tiger' stripes. There is nothing that can be done to repair this. If you have an extended warranty, the mfg should exchange the panel for you. If your warranty is up, take photos and contact Toshiba online and try to get them to cover this regardless. This is a mfg defect.
