SOURCE: Olympia, and/or Sharper Image infoglobe. Need fix.

It appears that you have already removed the 4 screws. The globe will not just fall off, it has to be pried. Take a small- bladed screwdriver or a small-bladed pocket knife and gently pry from any small opening you see between the globe and its base. Work the blade around the globe and it will come off. I just did it and now I'm trying to figure out how to get inside the "guts" of the globe. Will keep you advised.

SOURCE: how to change time on Olympia Infoglobe caller id

I have the manual and can tell you what it says:
(this worked for me last year when we went off daylight savings, but for some reason, It doesnt seem to work anymore. I can't imagine that I did anything different then. You can try, though.)
Enter (or leave) the Demonstration Mode by pressing the right key for at least 1 second.
Then, by pressing SELECT key, you are SUPPOSED to be able to scan a menu which lets you pick date format, time format, etc.

This no longer works for me, and the instructions also have a contradictory comment that says the SELECT key is disabled in this mode. But perhaps this will work for you.

I would also appreciate instructions if anyone knows what I am doing wrong.

My Lexmark printer is showing 122.03 service fusher error what can i do

This error normally requires a service call. However, certain rare occurrences, such as a a power fluctuation or a stray static discharge in the vicinity of the printer, can cause a false 122.03 error message to appear. In these cases, the error is only temporary and can be easily resolved without service. Follow the steps in the table to test this.
Step Action 1
Power the printer off, wait ten seconds, and then power the printer back on.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly. 2
If possible, connect the printer's power cord directly into a grounded wall outlet. In rare instances, a surge protector or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) can generate false error messages.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to Contacting Lexmark below.
No: Print a test page. If the page prints, the printer is functioning correctly.

Standing on carpet in bare feet, got a shock when touching burner control switch.

That is quite common. The carpet build up a static charge in hot dry weather and then when you touch anything that has a ground you discharge it through the grounded item.

I bought Transcend MP860 last month. when i start charging thru PC it shows the message charging error insufficient voltage. When I finish charging it fully until it displays the message and start playing...

This is a common problem with these players (first link). My MP860 failed in this way (insufficient voltage etc message)
I made a rig with laboratory PSU (several amp output) connected to USB socket and I know that that the problem has nothing to do with voltage (voltage was stable 5V - tested also higher up to 5.5V)
For a while a trick with holding the volume up button worked for me. (see second link) But once I discharged the battery to a too low level and the trick did not work anymore.
My conclusion is that that message indicates Li-ion battery degradation and charger circuit/FW declines to charge it showing misleading message. (battery made by Foxlink)
I tore my the player open and rigged charge circuit and get it working again. Photo: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5063/5683361395_d59bef8142_b.jpg
Few suggestions: 1. Never allow the battery to be fully discharged. Charge at any opportunity you have. 2. Once you get the Insufficient input voltage message try trick with holding volume adjustment. 3. If 1., 2. failed rip it open and make charging circuit or replace battery. 4. Do not buy Transcend MP3 players. (?)

I walked across the room to answer cordless phone and static shocked my phone. It does not work now. Why? Can it be fixed?

In a dry climate, and you if you wear a rubber soled shoes, and when you walk on carpet to your cordless phone you will build up a static charge. When as you pick up your phone this static charge will discharge through the phone as you touch it.
The fix, avoid building a static charge by walking around without wearing shoes or move the phone to a location where there is no carpet.

Rth230b honeywell display screen faint

Mike, The static electrical spark probably 'zapped' the Rth230b Honeywell Display unit. If you have already tried removing the power (batteries) from the unit and after waiting several minutes; reapply the power (batteries). If the problems remain unchanged, then it is time to replace the Display unit with a new one. The static electricity problem is problematic and the only way to prevent the same problem from recurring is to discharge yourself before touching the Honeywell Display. As you walk across the room which (probably has carpet), causes the static electricity to build up on your body and then discharges itself through the Display unit when you make contact with the Display unit. You might try coming to a complete stop and attempt to discharge the static charge on your body by touching the wall first with one hand for a second before touching the Display unit with the other hand. Naturally, cold weather with low humidity makes the static electricity worse. Hopes this helps you. Henry

Olympia infoglobe

Funny that I came across this. I just now fixed this exact problem. This unit had failed after an electrical storm. Solution found elsewhere suggested removing the batteries and unplugging the A/C adapter for 10 minutes. (I waited 30). Reinstall batteries and reattach A/C adapter. Buttons worked to get to the erase memory option, which I did. Infoglobe is now functioning properly. This is also the instructions for clearing the "eeprom error" readout that many infoglobes exhibit after a power surge. Good Luck!

The display shows all the icons of the sytem and wont clear...

$38 part from Sears PartsDirect took about 30 mins to install.  Part # AH92-02673A Ay pcb-front.  There are actually 2 boards to this setup, I went ahead and replaced both but the power button side of the board has some wiring that requires you to remove the disc changer which is only 4 screws and 2 screws for the piece that holds the disc above the reader.
I couldn't find an easy way to get the knob off on the front it required me to force it, nothing borke but your replacing the board anyways..

Fading Display

The blinking asterik means low battery. Could be that your replacement batteries aren't full power.

What is really sounds like is a static charge problem though. If you don't have anything stored in memory that you are worried about losing, try taking the batteries out for a full 24 hours. This will let the capacitor drain and performs a static discharge. After 24 hours put working batteries back in.

Touch Focus Error

Even if the pix appears to be "OK", the internal convergence

alignment (in servicer mode) must be accurate within certain

parameters for the Touch Focus function to complete w/o error.

Adjustments should be done in "Full" mode, both HD & regular

signal.
