Hi there.
0146 error is DST Log contains previous error(s).
0148 error is
IDE ERROR: status (x) (s)

This could be a problem with the BIOS, restart the PC and hit F2 as it starts up, this will take you into the bios, reset the bios to default setting, press F10, save and exit the bios, the PC will restart so perform another check and see if the same error code return.

Good luck

Sir, I want to change my o/s from windows 7 to xp on lenovo g450 but unable to do the same as error messege apears.let me know the right process to do the same . akash

If I understand you correctly, you want to downgrade from Windows 7 to Windows XP.

What error messages are you getting? A great deal of new hardware just can't be directly supported in XP.

My computer with windows xp after a while dumps its memory

First off, have you installed any new hardware or software/drivers recently?

Random memory dumps are caused by out-dated or incorrect drivers, or malfunctioning hardware.

In most cases you can reference an error message by going into your event logs using

start, run
type
eventvwr.msc
Click on system or application

Dr Watson is a program in windows xp that is used to diagnose these error messages. Look at this link

HELP! Laptop will not boot up!

Try an XP repair:
Boot with the Win XP install CD-ROM, it loads a minimal operating system, similar to DOS, but compatible with Win XP. At the first screen you select install Win XP (not Recovery Console) and at the next screen it will find that you already have Win XP and offer to attempt a repair. This repair should not touch your Applications or data; it just reinstalls the Windows files. This is great because when it works you don't need to reinstall all your software.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

3.0) BE HAPPY NOW.... AND NEVER EVER INSTALL WINDOWS GENUINE ADVANTAGE NOTIFICATION IN WINDOWS UPDATE OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THE DAMN PROCESS AGAIN.

IN ORDER TO THAT FOLLOW THIS

START

When u use this option whenver your system detects any new WINDOWS UPDATE choose the updates which u want to install... DONT INSTALL WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK --3.

To solve code error 0146 and 0148

Both of these are hard drive errors. Error 0146 is a failed hard drive or bad drive sector, and 0148 is that thew machine is no longer detecting the hard drive. Basically, your hard drive has failed and will need replaced. Replace the hard drive and you will be set. The best place I've found to buy hard drives is at pricewatch.com, they have the best prices on the market.
