I am not too familiar with this particular model but I would think the cord winder may be shorting out. I think you can take it apart by turning it on its side, pull the side strips off. It is a bit tricky but if you access the winder check the electrical conitinuity from the winder to the plug in cord. You are probably better to take it in but if you cant please be careful to not get a shock..

My electrolux stopped working while using it. Why would a new hose possibly fix my problem? I am not using the rug attachment. Thank you!

Vacuum presumably? No, a new hose won't provide a cure to a non-working vac.

Not uncommon for portable tools and appliances to stop working.
About 7 times out of ten the fault is traced to an internal break in the power cord, usually within a couple of feet of one end or the other.

The powerhead on my Electrolux Epic 8000 has stopped working. It still vacuums up stuff, but the rotating brush doesn't work. The model number is N106M. How do I fix it? I've already pushed the reset...

Does it have a drive belt? if so, is it broken? Some vacuums have a switch that shuts off the beater bar if the handle is upright like when using the hose. This switch, if it exists on yours, could be stuck, out of adjustment or broken. Good luck.

How to fix a broke cable inside a reel in Electrolux Ergospace ZE2262

If the vacuum runs well with no other problems it may be worth buying a new cord reel. It may be less expensive to purchase a new vacuum but it may not last as long as an older machine. I have many 10 to 20 year old vacuums brought into my store for routine maintenance. Do not try to replace the cord as you are correct, the spring come flying out.

Never have liked Electrolux doing any repair because it has been my experience that they don't do what they say they did....if you can read between the lines.....give me a picture of the unit and more details and I'll try and help you.

My Ergospace Vacuum took some apple juice in and now it makes strange noice and even threw out some sparks. Is there anything I can do my self or is it over with this vacuum cleaner? I opened 6 screws, but...

Liquid plus electrical parts always ends up with the electrical parts losing. Juices, although they will dry, will leave behind a sticky residue. You'll need to replace at least the motor, but due to the other electrical components, probably be better off replacing the whole thing.

The hidden screws are beneath the control panel. There are two tabs beneath the panel cover. Using a thin bladed screw driver release these to pop of cover. You may need to use a flashlight to be able to see the tabs and make sure they get released. If the tabs break, the cover won't stay on. Under the cover are two screw that need to come out.
There are two more tabs in the bag well that need to be released. Remove the bag and at the top of the back of the tank you'll see two tabs. Do so with a screw driver. After this the top of the machine can be lifted off with some manipulating.
There are electrical motor spray cleaners you can use to try to get the residue off the motor, but it's doubtful you'll be able to remove it all.

Power nozzle model #n137b of the electrolux lux5000 just stops working periodically when vacumming, now barely works at all

Make sure the brush is clear of all thread, string, hair, and similar material that has gotten wrapped around it.
There could be a problem with one of the electrical connections from vacuum to power nozzle, including broken wire in the hose. Check all connections for cracks, discoloration, and looseness.
You may need to take the vacuum to the shop. If so, make sure you take it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store. Service tech should be able to determine the problem quickly.
Just remember, it just needs fixed, you don't need a new vacuum, and tell them that.

Electrolux Canister - Stops working after 1-2 minutes.

Electrolux Canister - Stops working after 1-2...
Our vac works for a short time, then shuts off and makes clicking noise as if trying to restart again. Works after cooling for a while but for another very short time. Your suggestion on fix would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure
I would advise that it could be a thermal switch or a regular switch that the thermal switch is over heating and needs replacement – there are small hoses in the door section that could have been pinched or kinked and it stopping the air flow from the vacuum – also check for a clogged or plugged vacuum hose, a full vacuum bag or a dirty vacuum filter. Check the thermal switch or reg switch or the hoses in the door. Or feel free to contact your local vacuum dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or call the factory @ the phone number listed below:
