How do I change my projector lamp?

Instructions
  1. Front Projector
    • 1 Disconnect the power cable from your projector. Allow it to cool for 30 to 60 minutes. Lay the projector upside down on a table.
    • 2 Remove the lamp cover, typically located on one of the rear corners of the projector's underside. Depending on your projector, you will either have to loosen a few Phillips screws or press on one or two plastic release tabs to remove the lamp cover.
    • 3 Loosen the screws holding the lamp assembly in place. Grab the assembly by the handle and slide it out of the projector.
    • 4 Slide a new lamp assembly into the projector. Don't touch the glass on the bulb because it will damage the bulb. Tighten the retaining screws on the lamp assembly and replace the lamp cover.
    • 5 Turn the projector right side up and reconnect the power cable. Power on your projector.
    Rear Projector
    • 6 Unplug the TV from the outlet. Let it cool for 30 to 60 minutes.
    • 7 Remove the lamp cover. On most rear projection TVs, the lamp cover is located on the right or left side of the TV's rear panel. Remove the cover by loosening the screws and pulling the cover away from the TV. Certain manufacturers, like Mitsubishi, have the lamp cover in the front of the TV, near the left speaker. To get to the cover, you must first use your fingers to pry off the front panel below the screen, revealing the speakers and lamp cover. Loosen the screws on the cover and pull it away from the TV.
    • 8 Remove the lamp assembly. Loosen its screws, grab the handle and slide it out of the TV. If you have a newer Sony model, there are no screws. Instead, press the release tab to unlock the lamp assembly and slide it out of the TV.
    • 9 Slide a new lamp assembly into the TV. Don't touch the glass on the assembly, as the oils in your fingers will damage the bulb. Tighten the screws or pop the retaining tab into place.
    • 10

Replace the lamp cover and front panel, if necessary. Plug your TV back into the electrical outlet and power it on.

Tips & Warnings
  • Touching the lamp assembly before it has cooled can cause a nasty burn.

How do u change the front signal bulbs on SRX 2004 with out taking the whole car apart???

Remove the bottom plastic cover along the front grills by pulling the push pins which hold them in place. You can slide the cover out . Remove the plastic cover inside the wheel which is also held by push pins.

When both the covers are out you ca use an 9/32'' wrench to remove the two bolts which hold the whole lamp assembly. You then need a torx driver to remove the six torx screws in the light assembly and you can replace the bulb.

How to change headlight lamp in 2005 Pontiac g6

To change the bulbs you need to first remove the 5 plastic pop screws on the front bumper. They're spread out at the top of the bumper right under the hood. Once you get those out, you have to remove the two hex bolts on each headlight. Then it gets tricky. You need to pull the light towards the front of the car until it pops out of the ball-bearing type mount on the fender. Once that pops out, you have to pull the front bumper forward while maneuvering the headlight out towards the front.

As per the manual it says as follows:---

Open the hood.

Hold the headlamp to prevent damage to the headlamp or to the fascia. Remove the bolts from the headlamp assembly. Remove the push-in-retainers across the front fascia. Remove the headlamp assembly. Lift the headlamp upward to release the locating tab from the front edge of the fender.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp assembly.

Remove the headlamp bulb access cover by rotating the headlamp bulb access cover counterclockwise, if necessary.

Remove the headlamp bulb from the housing by rotating the socket counterclockwise, if necessary.

Disconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connector, if necessary.

Remove the park/turn bulb access cover by rotating the cover counterclockwise, if necessary.

Remove the park/turn bulb from the housing by rotating the socket counterclockwise, if necessary.

Gently pull the park/turn bulb from the socket, if necessary. Install the park/turn bulb into the bulb socket.

Install the park/turn bulb socket into the headlamp housing by rotating the socket clockwise.

Install the park/turn bulb access cover by rotating the cover clockwise.

Connect the headlamp bulb to the headlamp electrical connector.

Install the headlamp bulb into the headlamp housing. Rotate the socket clockwise until locked.

Install the headlamp bulb access cover by rotating the cover clockwise.

Position the headlamp assembly to the vehicle. Lift the headlamp upward to release the locating tab to the front edge of the fender.

Install the bolts to the headlamp assembly. Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

Install the push-in-retainers across the front fascia.

Close the hood.

Just had my 1999 jeep grand cherokee front differental (dana 30 3:73 ) replaced at a cost of $900 ,noticed the front cover was never totched (dirt on bolts) . CAN THIS TASK BE PERFORMED without removing...

Yes. The front differential can be changed without opening the front cover. I'd say it looks like a used differential was obtained and installed. The differential (assembly) is the entire front assembly housing the axles. If an axle were to be changed then the differential cover would have had to be removed to access the components.

I just find it somewhat unusual that the cover was not taken off by the part supplier to inspect the integrity of the pinion gears etc... I remove used parts nine hours per day, and unless I know for a fact that the (front) rear is good, I take the cover off to inspect it for wear and/or potential damage. In this regard, it may have been one of those instances. Check the bolts on the trailing arms (the bolts on the arms that lead to the frame) and other bolts to see if they've been disturbed, if you suspect foul play.

Can't get the cover off to change the bulb on the front turn signal

Hello terencewelch...the lens covers on these older models trucks seldom come off without damge. They are sealed with a gasket and compound to make them weather proof. You should be able to replace the bulb from the rear of the assembly. If you cant get to it from the back, slide the entire turn signal assembly out to access. Here is picture of the assembly for reference.
Good luck...i hope this helps and will fixya up.

How can i change the rubber seal on a Hotpoint WMA74? Or is it possibe to "turn" existing rubber seal as there is a slight cut at the bottom. Many thanks.

yes you can turn it, but be aware that on some occasion there might be some spashes even when the cut is at the top side. Dissassemble the spring-assembly (clamp-assembly) at the front side when door is openusing flat screwdriver. remove the top cover by undoing two screws one at each side of the top cover. pull out the detergent compartment, and undo three screws positioned from the front side just behind the detergent drawer, slide all the front panel to right side and it will come of. now unscrew three screws which been covered by front panel. gently pull all the front casing and disconnect the door-lock (2wire connection) put the front casing aside and dissassemble or just loosen enough clamp-assembly at the other end of rubber where the it is attached to the drum. turn the rubber to either side 180 degrees and assemble everything in the reverse order. Please make sure the rubber is properly in it's place when assembling.

Let me know about your progress.

Good Luck

B door open

There are two switches, so if you changed the one that was working....

Possible parts affected could be
- cover top
- cover fuser
- cover front assembly
- the switch
1) check the condition of the cover - top, front assembly and cover fuser closed?
2) on the cover top there is an "actuator", a plastic bit, which presses down on the switch assembly top - is that plastic bit broken, bent or deformed?
3) on the cover front assembly there is also an "actuator", check this
4) and of course same for the fuser cover
5) top cover, check the switch, disconnect the switch (P116-1) and press/release it - does that make a difference. If not replace switch
6) same procedure with the switch (P115-1) for front cover.
