Whirlpool calypson washer turned on in the middle of the night (2:30 a.m.) woke us up with all the beeping. Push to start and nothing happens. Cannot change to different cycle - nothing works! I have similar prolem with my Calypso Washer. It is 6 year old. One day morning we were listening a beep in the house and found that the Calypso turned automatically and set to Wool cycle. We cancel the cycle but it turned back on. We unplug the washer and plug back it in and it came back beeping. So we start the cycle and it completed the cycle and after the cycle is complete it stops beeping. BUT after couple of days another morning it again start beeping. We cannot change the cycle. We just unplug the washer for now and will plug back it when we want to Laundry. But I have my doubts that we might need to call Whirlpool or mechanic if the washer just stop working. Does that any reset thing that we can try to fix this problem ?

I did this test, it seemed to run through all its cycles and went to a C:08

I have the whirlpool top loader also. Was not quiet a year old, starts running at random by itself. They sent the repair man out got lectured that it was my fault (too much soap, washer is in basement, I need to call an electrician to check the wiring). Now it drips water into the inside of the washer.
I can see it will eventually be cheaper to replace than call the repairman back.... Won't be a Whirlpool

try running an extension cord to another outlet (another circuit breaker). ensure the cord is not too long (25 feet ok) and able to carry 15 to 20 amps (use 12 AWG cord).

We just experienced the same problem with the buttons! I just kept pushing all the buttons until it switched over-delicate cycle was actually the one that got it going-what a piece of work this machine is!

Hi, this is a main control panel issue. here is a procedure you can preform to gain control back.
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select
DRAIN/SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer.
Re-select cycle and press START.
If the problem persist, you will have to have the control panel repaired by the service tech.

I had the exact problem. I am not sure if this is the fix, but I unplugged the machine over a few hours, then plugged it back in. It stayed off for 20 seconds and then went back to the wool cycle. In frustration, I opened the lid while running my fingers over the cycle select buttons quickly back and forth two times, as I closed the lid, the display cleared and the machine returned to normal, so far anyway. It seemed as if some moisture had gotten in the controls somehow. It was a very humid day and I think that was the problem, after all. My machine is over ten years old, and the only other problem was a clogged drain pump. I used advice from this website to fix that, and saved 300 on repairs at least
