Tips for Living With Incontinence

Drink Plenty of Fluids
People often think that if they suffer from incontinence, they should be restricting their fluid intake. But this is rarely the cause of the incontinence.
Sometimes dehydration ie not drinking enough can cause bladder leakage as ***** becomes concentrated and irritates the bladder.
You should drink between 6-8 cups a day of drink but avoid fizzy drinks, tea, coffee and alcohol as they can all irritate the bladder.
Eat a High Fibre Diet
It might not seem connected but if you are constipated and don't have regular bowel movements, you are much more likely to suffer from faecal incontinence which is very uncomfortable and embarrasing.
Try eating a high fibre diet for good health and regular bowels.
Good foods include; fruit, drinking water, whole grain cereals and high-fibre breads.
Toilet Habits
Try waiting until your bladder feels really full before you go to the toilet. Even though going very frequently might seem like a good way of preventing accidents, it's actually teaching your bladder to feel the urge to ******* even when it isn't full.
Try and relax when you use the bathroom. Feeling under pressure or trying to force your body to speed up with not help empty your bladder properly.
Keep a Diary
If you're having problem with incontinence, you might find it helpful to keep an incontinence diary. Use it as a way to keep a note of the times of day your suffer incontinence and what you ate or drank before that.
This can help you find patterns that might allow you to avoid some of the incontinence. It can also be a useful tool to show your doctor.
Pelvic Floor Exercises
It's a myth that pelvic floor exercises are only for pregnant women. Use regular pelviv floor exercises to tighten your muscles. These muscles support the bladder and by strengthening them, you can help prevent leakage of *****.

How to stop diarrhoea

This is your body's way of ridding itself of poisons and intestinal infections, so don't be too quick to try to stop it. Drink plenty of fluids, wash your hands often, and if it is still going on after 2-3 days see a doctor (but sooner if you develop a rash, fever or have severe pain). There are several other possible causes.
