Iphone Mail Settings

Ok, So I've been asked a Question, a client of mine wants to be able to delete his emails off his Iphone but not to be deleted of his Outlook, i first set his outlook and iphone with IMAP Settings. but doing this what emails he deletes on his iphone will be deleted or have a line through them in outlook.

So i though about keeping his Outlook With IMAP Settings and changing his Iphone Settings to POP3 with option on the iphone "Never Delete Downloaded Email from Server"

So is there an option is Itunes or a software which would just Sync the Sent emails back to Outlook and IPhone?

Technically, you're on the money with switching the phone's email client to POP3 and never delete from server. All of that can be done through the mail setup app on the phone.

If you want to get creative, create a new gmail account for the client, set the reply address on the new account to the original email account, and forward a copy of all incoming mail to the new gmail account. That way everything comes to the iPhone but now you are protecting the user from him/herself -- s/he can delete away on the iPhone but can't access the original email account unless connected through Outlook.

My apple account sign in

On the iPhone...click the settings button and scroll down until you see the tab that says: Mail, Contact, Calenders>

-Click on: Mail, Contact, Calenders>

You should now see the Email Account.

- If you want to change your daughters email you can delete the account and add a new one.

-But first you will have to delete the account and you can do that by pressing on your daughters account... Scroll down and there's a tab that you can click on that says: Delete Account.

-They should ask you again if you click on that tab if you really want to delete it and say 'Yes' if you do.

-Once you deleted the account- go on the internet and make a new email address with new password.

-How you can add that account back onto your phone is by clicking the: Settings button

-Scroll down to you see the tab: Mail, Contact, Calenders>

-Click on it ...

-And click on the tab that says: Add account

I hope this helps

Sometimes the services change their setup. The current setup for AOL to support IMAP is:

Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.aol.com

Make sure port settings are:
IMAP-993-SSL
SMTP-465-SSL

I keep getting junk mail from same address. How do I block if I own a MAC? I don't seem to be able to permanently block an email address.

This depends on what mail client you are using. In Mac OS X Mail, you need to define a rule:
  1. Open up mail and go Mail -> Preferences
  2. Click on the 'Rules' tab
  3. Click 'Add Rule'
  4. Using the editor, make it so that if the email is From the spam address (Which you put in the box), that email message is deleted.
  5. Press OK. Mail may ask you if you want to apply that rule to email messages already in your mailboxes - press yes if you want them automatically deleted.
There are similar steps if you are using a different mail client - if you are, let me know and I'll try to guide you through the steps.
Hope that helps, good luck!

I tried sending a large file via email on my iphone

Go into itunes and try syncing your phone. You may be able to move the email from the application. Otherwise delete your mail account, and re install it after backing it up with itunes so you don't lose the contacts. I have 2 of them and mine has done that before, my wifes never has. so it's a quirk, but it was the only way I could get mine running again, it shouldn't affect anything else, just re input the settings for the email account and you should be good to go

I cant send and reply or forward any massage from my yahoo account

The question is how do you access your e-mail? There are two ways of accessing the e-mail. First is via the Web browser where you need to open your Internet browser and then type your user name and password.

The other one is via an e-mail client like Outlook 2003, 2007 or Outlook Express.

If you're accessing your e-mail via the Web browser, try optimizing the internet browser by deleting the Cookies and Temporary Internet Files.

Here's how to delete the Cookies and Temporary Internet Files for IE7 and later versions:

1. Run your IE > Tools menu.
2. Internet Options > click on 'Delete' under the Browsing History option.
3. Click the Delete buttons for Cookies, Internet Files
4. OK > Close and re-open your IE and try accessing your e-mail again.

But if you're accessing your e-mail via an e-mail client (Outlook 2007), all you have to do is to change the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) port number and you should be able to send e-mails out.

Here's how:

1. Run your Outlook > Tools > Account Settings.
2. Double-click on your e-mail account.
3. Click on More Settings button > Advanced tab
4. Change the Outgoing Mail SMTP port number. If your Outgoing port is set to 25, you may change it to 2525 or 587 or 465 (SSL)
5. OK > Close and re-open your Outlook.
6. Try sending e-mail.

Good luck and have a great day!

Email deleted on the server still remains in my iphone

That's strange. Except if you have the iPhone email settings set to POP instead of IMAP ...
Without knowing how much you have troubleshooted this already, I'll suggest making sure that IMAP is ENABLED on ALL your Gmail accounts and ALSO that IMAP is enabled on all your iPhone email accounts.
If IMAP is working properly you should stay in synch, no matter how you check or delete individual emails.
If you have IMAP enabled on one of the Gmail accounts, you can still access it via POP settings with the iPhone. If this is the setup, then when you delete an email on the server, it will not be synced when you check your mail on the iPhone, but instead you'll just retrieve any new mails that hadn't already been retrieved previously. However, if you delete a mail message on your iPhone in this scenario, it will not "return."
Good luck!
