Remove the top thread from the machine. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning.

Sp error janome 8048

This is usually meant that the bobbin winder is in engaged. This happens on my 8080, so it should also work for the 8048. Not mentioned in the manual. Found it by someone posting on the internet.

Thread is knotting up under the feed dog plate getting error LO.I tried removing the plateand cleaning and replaced bobbinholder and it is still jamming. is there supposed to be any play in the bobin...

It should move a little so the thread has clearence. If the thread is bunching underneath, it usually means the thread's not in the take-up lever or top tension is too loose. If you're needle has hit the bobbin case and created needle marks, the thread can get caught... in which you'd need to replaced the bobbin case.

I have a Janome 8080 that is out of warranty by a month and days. I went to use it and my handwheel will not let me move it backwards. It is not giving me a code that anything is wrong. I can't reach...

You should always move the handwheel forward. On some machines moving it backwards can throw off the timing. Try reverse and doing a couple of stitches to test.
