I have had Wi Fi on my Kindle Fire and now it will not connect and keeps asking for an IP address

When you connect to Wifi and if it shows "obtaining IP address" means it is searching for the IP address of the wifi sender...
when you connect to internet it is done through IP address so your phone is tying to locate an IP address with which it can connect
to the internet. Below are the steps to connect your device to Wifi:
Applications-->settings-->turn Wifi ON-->select the wifi that you want to connect from the list displayed-->enter the network password(if it asks for) -->connected Another easy way...just open the chrome app in your phone and try typing in some website like google.com when it tries to connect a pop up will appear "try connecting to WiFi ..mobile data will incur charges.." something of that sort...and you can click connect to wifi...and automatically it will detect the wifi that is around your location. You can check for your IP address through Ip-details.com

We have a wifi at home.. But every time a connect to it it doesn't work or connect either it always says "DISCONNECTED!"

Try using a static ip address and use the information from the router's ip address. (ip address, dns, subnet, gateway etc.)

Another option is to reconfigure your router by going to the router's ip address(which you can find [if on a computer] in control panel> networking>change adapter settings>local network>properties>ipv4 address)

connect to wifi using my blackberry curve 8520 1. Click icon Manage Connection
2. Check/click on Wi-Fi ON
3. Scroll down and see “Set Up Wi-Fi Network”, click Next
4. And now click Scan For Networks.
On this step BlackBerry will scan all of the Wi-Fi around you. Find the Wi-Fi that you want it and save if needed.
5. If you know the SSID network, you can Manually Add Network. And now click theBlackBerry menu and click Connect.
6. If you ask for password, fill it. Usually in free Wi-Fi hotspot there’s no password needed.
7. The next step is fill the name for the Wi-Fi connection to save on Wi-Fi profie or you can just click to Connect. Click Next to continue..
8. The Menu will be back to Manage Connection. Check the Wi-Fi Options to set the UP address is it using DHCP (on BlackBerry it will said “Automatically obtain IP address and DNS”) or using static IP address. If using DHCP you can browsing to Internet but you must change the setting at the browser on the Main Menu -> Options -> Advance Options -> Browser. Change the default browser configuration with the HotspotBrowser. Good luck to surf on the net!
9. But if it’s need manually fill the IP address. You can go to Wi-Fi Options, Hightlight Wi-Fi profile which you already save previously, click the BlackBerry Menu, Edit, Highlight the text “Automatically obtain IP Address and DNS”, click BlackBerry Menu, Change Option, fill the IP one by one (default is 0.0.0.0). And click Save. And don’t forget to change the browser by follow the step on number 8.
Happy surfing on the internet using Blackberry!! But do not forget turn-off the Wi-Fi to save the battery lifetime.

How to connect to net via wire and wifi

I'm assuming Windows is the OS. After disconnecting from one access method but before connecting with another (modem to wifi or network wire, etc. the IP address on the notebook will likely not be acceptable to the new connection) open a DOS or Command "Box" or "Window" (go to Start --> Run --> type the word "cmd" or "command" without quotes and then click ok. At the prompt, (without the quotes) type: "ipconfig /release" (You can see all the variables for the ipconfig command by typing "ipconfig /?")

Establish a new connection via hardwire network or wifi and allow the PC obtain a new IP address as normal. If unable to access internet sites, you can try to forcing a new IP address by opening the DOS box again and type "ipconfig /renew" This should cause the machine to get a new IP address. The "ipconfig" commands will probably not force a modem connection to get a new IP address (I haven't run modems for a long time - so I'm not familiar with their procedure of obtaining an IP address)

No ip address

when you say ip/config you mean wifi properties and internet protocol properties right ?
if so select obtain ip address auto and select obtain dns auto.
if thats not what you mean...goto control panel ..open network connections...click on ur network connection ...in the list at left select change settings for this connection...in network properties scroll to internet protocol..double click to open..select obtain ip auto and obtain dns auto.
there are other ways to fill in fields but you need relevant info..
there are programs which can show u ip's but most require a special driver.
incidently if you choose ip and dns auto you will not see ip address but when connecting to network you will see aquiring ip address please wait.
if for some reason you still cant connect go to a place where you know have free internet access and connect there then net connection will be configured
