WiFi query If I upgrade my old DS original console for a new DS lite will I still be able to use my WiFi games on the new console (Given they were paired to the old one)? Is there a way to overwrite or transfer settings on wifi games?

First DS (system you are transferring the ID from)

  1. Turn on any Nintendo WFC-compatible game and access the WFC Setup Utility. (Consult the game manual for the game you are playing for specific information.)
  2. Tap "Options."
  3. Tap "Transfer Nintendo WFC Configuration."
  4. Tap "Ok", then tap "Ok" again.
  5. Second DS (system you are transferring the ID to)

  6. Remove all games from the DS you wish to transfer the settings to, then turn the system on.
  7. On the DS's main menu, select "DS Download Play."
  8. Select "Nintendo WFC Configuration Transfer."
  9. Tap "Yes" when asked if you want to download the software. The word "Downloading..." will appear.
  10. First DS

  11. On the DS with Nintendo WFC configuration, tap "Ok" to confirm that you wish to transfer the configuration.
  12. Second DS (system you are transferring the ID to)

    • If there is an existing configuration on the new DS, tap "Ok" to confirm that you wish to overwrite the existing configuration.
    • Once the transfer begins, it will take about half a minute.

    Both DS Systems

  13. Once the configuration has been transferred, tap "Ok" to save the changes and shut each system off.

All of the Friend Codes you had given or received on the previous Nintendo DS will now work in the Nintendo DS system you transferred the ID to.

I just copied that from nintendo.com's customer service for you... it's better than how I could explain it.

How do you "Connect to nintendo wi-fi connection"

Hi there.
    • Turn on your DS and navigate to the WiFi connection settings menu. On a DSi, click the wrench icon, navigate to the third page of options and select "Internet." On an original DS or DS Lite, select "Edit WiFi Settings" from the in-game menu. The game must be WiFi compatible to access the WiFi settings menu.
    • Select "Connection Settings."
    • Choose an open connection slot, which will be indicated by the word "None" next to the connection number
    • Select "Search for an Access Point."
    • Select your wireless network from the list displayed. Enter the wireless encryption code for your network with the onscreen keyboard.
    • Select "OK" when prompted to save your settings and establish a connection with the network.
Let me know if you have further questions.
Thank you!

How do you connect to the internet?

If you have wifi in your area, you want to go into the settings and configure your internet connection, Nintendo includes a very helpful wizard that should get you going.
If I can get a little technical for a second: The DSi supports more Wireless security types than the original DS or DS lite. Because of that it will recognize and connect to WPA2 and WPA encryptions as well as WEP. The old DS and DS lite only supported WEP. Because of that, if you are trying to play games online, you will need WIFI that is only secured with WEP or not at all.

What do i need to go on wifi with my ds

You can only connect to WiFi in certain games (such as Pokemon) and it will ask you to connect to WiFi ingame.
There is nothing you need to connect, just a DS Lite and a wireless router.

Sons DS Lite will start up but the minute you try to start it with a a game included you can not do anything with it

a firmware upgrade either via nintendo wifi or through a usb connector will fix this issue, you can do a full reinstall of the system if needed.

Missing slot 2 for ds lite. where can i purchase one on oahu?

If this is a DSi you won't have a game slot for old game boy advance games. Only the original DS Lite has this game slot.

DS Lite flight mode?

The Nintendo DS LIte itself is in flight more or it's called "not connected". Unless you activated the Picto-Chat or any wireless games (Download Play, WiFi), the nintendo ds isnt emitting any wireless signals.
