Can I use the transistor d1878 horizontal, instead transistor c5148?
I have Sony TV, transistor D1878 is damage, can i use the another type for replacemen?
Best to use the same number transistor that was removed from your set, but could not find this part anywhere.
try calling 818-509-7850, that's Sunspace electronics in north hollywood, they sell parts.
Ask them what a replacement would be for this transistor.
I've always found them to be quite helpful.
just another tip here for you, I found out that Andrews sells to the public so give them a call 800.289.0300.
give them that part no. and they will reseach it and call you back.
they will try to locate a sub for it.
used to manage a shop and have ordered from many times
also try Andrews Electronics at 800.289.0300.
they will research the part and call you back, maybe they can find a sub
I just fixed a 32" sony that would power on & had sound but no pic
I found some bad solder connections on the back of the CRT board, that's the board on the neck of the picture tube. If you are good at soldering you can probably fix it.
gently pull the board off, you might have to gently wiggle it a little side to side, but be careful that you don't bind the pins on the picture tube.
If that doesn't fix it check solder connections on the main board.
