Where can i find the cmos battery on emachines 420 desktop?

The cmos battery is located on the motherboard, and is easy to see,
its a big flat watch battery.

Look around on the motherboard for it, and there is a little clip somewhere around it that you need to push back to release the battery.

You should touch and hold the frame of the computer with one hand while you remove the battery, if you don't have a anti-static strap.

Did you remove the CMOS battery and move the jumper on the systemboard to clear the CMOS? After a few minutes or so, put the jumper back and power on the machine. If it powers on fine, you can turn it off and put the CMOS battery back in.

There may be many causes.

First, if you get any Beeps, recommend you to remove and reinsert the Memory(RAM) sticks.

Do try booting after removing the CMOS Battery(The one like a coin on the motherboard). Check the manual for instructions to remove the CMOS Battery.
