You have plainly not supplied enough information to resolve your problem but not all is lost. Call your email provider and ask them for help, they know there system settings you will need. Please be advised each internet-email provider is different. I use Go Daddy and I cannot say enough on how good they are. They got me up and running in less then five minutes and I was learning the I phone 5 at the time.

I have constant trouble with my toshiba laptop using windows vista constantly losing the dial up internet connection.

If your telephone line may have disturbances from any electronic devices at any point then this could happen. Try moving other devices especially speakers, mobile phones and TV near the modem. Does your laptop wifi enabled one? Do you use telephone in that line? If so use a line filter with two out. could you give your laptop model no.? There is not enough details to pinpoint the problem

I've currently got an Acer Aspire 6530 with Windows 7 (x64) Professional Edition installed on the system. I am losing connection to the internet constantly, and it takes me 5 or more minutes to re-connect....

If you are using WPA encryption for your wireless connection, try changing your router to WEP encryption for the wireless security. Try connecting again and see if there are any more issues.

Internet connot display web page all the time , and slow download speeds, modem adsl light coming on constantly.

Dealt with a lot of these. It is either :

1. Wrong password and ISP information - double check that everything your ISP has asked you to put in is correct

2. Bad phone connection - even if the ADSL light comes on (which means the router can see an ADSL connection from your phone provider) does not mean the line is clean. Pull out all the connections to your home phone, and just plug in the router to get it all up and running. Once happy reconnect one at a time all phones, digi boxes etc.

3. Adding to 2. - have you got a splitter? If so, change your splitter or reconnect, splitters can fail quite easily and get old fast - a bad splitter creates a lot of noise on the line, making the internet time out

It could be a router fault, they last about 4 years before they start doing silly things. But likely one of the above.

Try two sites once you are happy :

www.speedtest.net - to check your connection speed
www.pingtest.net - to check line quality

Not recognized by cable modem

Turn everything off for 2 minutes, cable modem, router and pc.

Turn on modem and wait 2 minutes for the modem to sync to TW.
Turn on router after 2 mins and wait until the router syncs with the modem.
Turn on PC
It sounds like your router lost its connection to the cable modem, which happens from time to time. TW will not help with your router. I worked for a cable co and the router and modem losing sync was the at least 70% of the calls. FYI cable doesn't use DSL,just the phone co.

Cect i 9 internet set up and coverage prob for vodafone australia

UK WAP gateway settings
The following table shows basic WAP gateway setup information for the main UK mobile phone operators. The menu options differ between handset manufacturers. Some of the common menu fields explained:Bearer type: There are two types: GSM or GPRS. GSM works by dialling a dedicated WAP dial-up number and should work on any WAP-enabled handset. GPRS is a newer technology, and only works on selected handsets. GPRS is an always-on service that is billed per-kilobyte, and not as GSM, which is billed per-minute. Dial-up number - The telephone number that your WAP browser needs to dial to connect. (Not required for GPRS)
  • GPRS APN - If connecting over GPRS (as opposed to dial-up), you need an Access Point Node address, so the network knows where to direct your request. See our GPRS for full UK GPRS settings
  • Username and password - Note that these are case sensitive, and should be typed in as shown
  • Gateway IP details - WAP works by routing traffic through a Gateway that handles optimising the content efficiently. The address is made up of a series numbers separated by dots. This may also be referred to as the WAP Proxy Server address.
  • Homepage - This is the main page provided by a network operator... The front-door for access to content provided via your network operator
  • Below is the numbers you will need.
  • GSM Dial up Number>+447836 900808
  • GPRS APN>wap.vodafone.co.uk (Contract) pp.vodafone.co.uk (PAYG)
  • Username>[email protected] or web will post the rest
