Acer Aspire ONE series, does not have CD/DVD drive.

You must buy external CD/DVD drive:

Unless you can borrow an external CD drive with a USB connector, you would need to contact Microsoft and give them your Office 2003 key and they may allow you to download a copy.

Actually, it might be worth it to purchase an external CD drive. I've seen them priced from $20 - $100.

You need to purchase a 5.25" external enclosure with the same connection type as your drive (which is IDE). You install your drive into that enclosure and then use the drive via USB. this is amoter' rubber problem . we can see in old room.take it on tecn . they can change.

Try hooking up your lap top to an external monitor. If does the same thing, then more than likely your graphics card is shot. Unfortunately this is built into the motherboard and you will probaly have to purchase a new motherboard. There are a couple of things to try first. 1. Remove the memory and reposition and see if that helps. 2. remove hard drive and battery and try powering up.

Go check your BIOS to make sure the cd rom drive is recognized by the system first, as if it is not, you will not be able to use it.
If the cd drive is removable, try removing it and reinstalling it first.
If the drive is recognized press the F12 key to get into the boot selection and choose CD Boot.

If an external keyboard works, than you should try reseating the laptop keyboard cable. If that doesn't work the keyboard will need to be replaced.

does the pc recognise the cd drive , if it does but still not recognise the disk,s then its maybe faulty , replacement dvd drives are soo cheap , £25 ans easy to fit , if you can not see the drive in "my computer" the click start.right click my computer,click properties.click hardware and then device manager.scrool down ,look for dvd/cd rom drives or any yellow question mark???, click item and properties and go from there ,
