Jvm230wl I want to replace my over the range GE JVM230WL model but I'm not sure the exact dimensions. It appears to be a snug fit in the bracket so the measurements need to be manufacture specific. Also, what current Spacemaker models would have the same dimensions as my current 1994 SM? Your help is appreciated. Jerry

GE Customer Service is here. They may be able to tell you if there is a "drop-in" replacement available for your model.

Otherwise, you'll have to take down the old bracket then mount another model in the space.

SOURCE: GE Microwave Oven Installation

If the top of it butts aginst your cabinets you will have to take the bolts from the inside of your cabinets around the front area that that are holding it up out (use 2 people) once they are out it "should" still hang there, next step slowly lift it an inch or so (then you will be no longer on the back suppot) again use 2 people, then you can pull straight out. hope this is what you are looking for.

What model would be equal to a sharp microwave model R1490

Chances are only an identical model will fit the brackets. Any new unit will come with new brackets. Just swap the brackets out and install the new unit

For dimensions look at the GE Appliance web site at: http://www.geappliances.com/ then search for JVM1653WH01
This will take you to the product information page for the JVM1653WH 1.6 Cubic Foot Over the Range Microwave Oven with weights and dimensions, installation instructions etc.

Whirlpool Microwave Oven Serial Number MH660XW-0

Hi Adam,
Built in over the range? The models change so rapidly unless it is less than a year old there probably wont be an identical replacement, Fortunately the mounting brackets remain close if you stay in the same brand. Whirlpools can be purchased at almost any retailer like Lowe's, Sears, BestBuy etc. Measure the the original and look for one that fits that dimension.

WATTAGE AND CU.FT IS UP TO YOU. JUST MAKE SURE WHAT YOU GET FITS LIKE THE OLD ONE DID DIMENSIONS WISE. THE HIGHER THE WATTAGE THE FASTER THEY COOK AND HEAT FOOD UP.

New Microwave

Well one would presume you could simply measure the bracket and the microwave, and ask a retailer for the dimensions of units with similar dimensions.

They may also have this bracket and be able to compare the sizes before purchasing your new one.

Not knowing the dimensions of either the bracket itself or the microwave, this would be the only solution i can think of.
