The transistor is mounted on the main circuit board, you cannot buy the part from Hobart or Miller, they only sell the complete circuit board.
If you can read any part numbers from the transistor you can purchase the part from a electronic parts supplier.
There are two wires comming from the circuit board to the wire feed motor. You can try running the motor directly from a 12v battery or two for 24 volts. You might want to look at the name plate on the motor to check the normal DC current it draws. If you do not have an ammeter, you could use a fuse close to or just under the normal current. If it runs and draws too much current, then you know you have motor problems. If it runs well and draws a fraction of normal current, you know the motor is good. Before you condem the circuit board, check that it is receiving the correct input voltage. If the welder is dual voltage, then somebodys mistake making voltage change could send 240 v to the board that is meant to receive 120v. Hope this helps, Robert
I have an issue with this same model, I need help, Got scammed on craisgslist and was sold ya240a with burned up circuit board. I really need help with pics of the transistors on it, and numbers on it. Since mine are blown. I cannot find circuit board schematics. I found someone who can salder the parts on for me.
I am a certified 6-g welder, and you can obtain the wiring prints through a welding supply company that sells lincoln products. Make sure you have the model number, as well as, the serial number.
You will not find schematics posted online as this would be a rarely used post, so a dealer would be the fastest, and less time consuming effort.
I find many links when I Google "solar 2175 welder parts", but don't know about NEW boards. You could get guaranteed repair of this 510-045-000 for about 84 dollars and 23 cents total. Otherwise (reading aloud & use all lower case) Cee q Jay Jay u Nine Dash 838 At sbcglobal.net will get you details. Replace the off-board transistor cabled to the 3-pin connector (regardless of whether it is an MJ900 or MJ11015) at the same time with a new one in the repair kit. That's because a bad or missing off-board transistor can easily smoke a good board, specifically the surface-mount chip 723-type regulator on the solder side of the board.
I am sure there is one to download. If google is no help, just ask some deep web specialists, e.g. http://manualfox.com/schematic.htm - this is a schematic search agency and if they don´t find it, it does not exist in the Internet.
Hi, To get parts for your welder you'll need to have the serial number off the tag on the case. This problem could have other causes, have you: Checked the tension on the wire spool? You ought to be able to pull the wire by hand easily. Checked the tension setting on the pinch rollers? Too much tension can drag down the motor speed.
You could also have a bad control card depending on which model wire feeder this is.
