My r7c hp photosmart digital camara will not format the SD card. It says the card has the wrong format. When I hit the ok to format card it says try again later.

This may be because a file is corrupted and unreadable...this happens for several reasons...trying to remove card whilst the camera is reading to it...opening card door during read write...failing battery whilst read write...if you have a corrupted card..try the HPUSB card utility which you can google and is free..this will correct the file system in a Ryder to format it...but you MUST find out what the correct file system is...usually Fat32 with cluster size of 1024 but in most cases ..once you have formatted with the hpusb you can then reformat on the camera....you should always format any card via camera before use as the cluster sizes can be confusing if formatted via pc.
