Honda eu2000 generator starts but no power to panel

check outlets and wiring for corrosion or short

Likely a valve stuck open. Pop the head off and verify. If so, try to free it by spraying a a light oil around the valve stem and possibly rotating the valve to free it. If you damaged the head gasket removing the head, it will have to be replaced. Be careful to torque the headbolts symmetrically so as not to crack the head. There will be a troque spec but I do not know what that is.

on the governor control back to the carby , there is a screw that adjusts the spring tension for the governor arm
that screw is the adjustment for engine operating rpm not the idle screw

You have to very careful powering up home appliances on portable generators due to back feed problems to incoming lines. I would recommend getting an experienced electrician to show and explain the problems with what you are considering. Many linemen have been shocked due to backfeed. The real way to perform this is to get the controller that is put on home generating systems such as generac type systems. These automatically isolate line supply from backup power from home generators, thereby eliminating shock hazards to linemen.
If prolonged shortage, you could disconnect the wires into the furnace and install an extension cord from the furnace to the 120 volt plug on the generator. Most fans are powered on gas furnace on 120 volt. Make sure your voltage needed on your furnace before attempting emergency power up. I have seen some furnaces power by 240 volt fan motors. If it is 240 volt then use the 240 plug wired correctly. PS when you get an electrician to help you with the wiring, check out the requirement to provide grounding, to lessen your shock hazard.

It is ok to use 87 octane regular unleaded gasoline in a Honda EU2000 generator. I have been running it in mine for 4 years with no problems. Using the higher octane blends is just a waste of cash.

Those generators are set up with a low oil saftey but your gonna want to check compression anyways just to verify it is where it needs to be. Im gonna guess its to be between 120-160 psi, check your manual for the service limits. after that check your air filter, valve lash, fuel filter etc etc.

I have a brand new Honda EU6500 flashing starts but then quits and gives error code E-21. Turns out the rubber batter hold down was undone and blocks air intake so engine quits. Put strap back in place and now runs fine.

YOUR LINE MAY BE PLUGGED FROM A DIRTY TANK. REPLACE THE LINE AND CLEAN THE TANK.

Hi there .
Depending on the model you have (eu1000 , eu2000) you drain the oil on the same place you fill it (servive door on the left side of the machine) Just remove the dipstick and put the machine on the side. All the other models is in the base of the motor (crankcase) with a 12mm bolt and you have one on each side of the motor .
