SOURCE: HP PAVILION ZV6000 LAPTOP CMOS BATTERY LOCATION

You have to take the keyboard off. Gently pry the plastic strip that is between the top of the keyboard and hinges. Unscrew the (2 to 4) screws holding the keyboard down. Slide the keyboard up and out. You should see the battery with 2 wires going to the motherboard. Pull the battery connector off the board, take out the battery and wait for about 30 seconds. Replacing it is easy once you have it open.

SOURCE: I would like to find the location of my CMOS

Try taking off the Keyboard, it is probably under there. There might be some screws on the bottom or snaps on the top.

SOURCE: Can anyone help me on how to reset the Bios

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

Hello! my name is Andrew I got a problem with entering a BIOS password on my hp compaq f500,motherboard version 442875-001.What is the version of BIOS on this laptop and what is the standard password for...

On the edge of the motherboard - Most jumpers are located on the side of the motherboard for easy accessibility, verify by looking at all visible edges of the motherboard.

By the CMOS battery - Some manufactures will place the jumper to clear the CMOS / BIOS password by the actual cmos battery.

By the processor - Some manufactures will place the jumpers by the processor of the computer.

Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computer the location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment.

Other visible location - While it is possible that the jumpers / dipswitches may not be in a visible location, most manufactures try to make things easier by placing the jumpers / dipswitches in another visible location.

If you cannot access the machine after if has been powered up, it is still possible to get past the BIOS password. The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine. The machines owner or user will most likely be alarmed when it is discovered that the BIOS password has been deleted.

On some motherboards, the battery is soldered to the motherboard, making it difficult to remove. If this is the case, you have another alternative. Somewhere on the motherboard you should find a jumper that will clear the BIOS password. If you have the motherboard documentation, you will know where that jumper is. If not, the jumper may be labeled on the motherboard. If you are not fortunate enough for either of these to be the case, you may be able to guess which jumper is the correct jumper. This jumper is usually standing alone near the battery. If you cannot locate this jumper, you might short both of the points where the battery connects to the motherboard.

If all else fails, you may have to clear the BIOS password by resetting the RTC (Real Time Clock) IC (Integrated Circuit) on your motherboard.

hope this helps

The BIOS battery could be a button type battery or it could be a battery with a plug-in lead.

Reset bios password

You need to locate the Cmos battery, not the jumpers, this is not a desktop.

Locate the Cmos battery, disconnect the battery for ten seconds, and Bios will reset to factory default.

see if you can locate a jumper beside the cmos Battery on the system board...
If yes, you will notice that its having three pins and has the inscription "1-2 cmos" , "2-3 clear"
If yes then remove the jumper from "1-2" to "2-3" and wait for about 5 to 10 seconds to clear the CMOS battery.
Replace the jumper to "1-2" and enjoy your default settings...

Get back to me if there is any problem....
