This is a fairly old model flat screen. I would venture a guess that the back light circuit bit the dust. Try the "flashlight test". With the set on, and tuned to a channel that you know has reception, shine a flashlight at the screen at various angles and look to see if you can see a very faint picture image on the screen. If so, the back light is gone. As old as your set is, I would recommend a new one rather than repairs.
Once you get to the Channel Setup menu push the Volume UP button and that will take you to the Auto Preset search that will add in your channels.
