Can't get it out of demo mode; radio/cd changer won't come on. reads only welcome to sony and shows clock.

My xr-c5120 sony stereo seems to be in demo mode now after using the reset button. radio/cd changer won't turn on. only reads welcome to sony and clock. how do i get it out of this mode and get the music to start playing again?

Try holding down the mode or power button... another menu should pop up... also refer to manual

Press clock timer set.
Turn selector to set the hour.
Press enter. Minutes will flash.
Turn selector to set minutes.
Press enter.
Setting the clock will deactivate demo mode.

Whenever we get our truck serviced, the cd player to our sony xr-c8220 won't work. It say's "goodbye" and to push reset. We tried that and it still won't work.

The CD player is malfuntioning. Either the wiring is incorrect (A short, etc.) or just a heat problem. Good Luck to ya!

Sony XR C2600
  • Press release button on faceplate.
  • Remove the faceplate.
  • Clean the contacts in system and faceplate with alcohol.
  • Voila, all button works now

There could be a loose connection somewhere.
Does the sound stops on a regular time interval or only on certain conditions?
Would there be a chance that there's water leakage at the area where the CD changer is stored?

It definitely sounds like it took a surge. yhe Power Amop IC in those things are pretty sensitive. Any decent repair shop should be able to repair it for under $125.
