Acer is asking for a bootable disk and i dont know what to do i have looked up in the internet and says a recover disk any help?
If your computer is asking for a bootable disk drive on startup, it typically indicates drive failure and your harddrive needs replacement. Sorry for the badnews.

you won't able to crack the password. you either have to flash the bios or reset it by opening up the laptop and using the "bios flashing jumper"

For the psswords i can recomend to reset them from BIOS but to do that you must first know them. The problem with recovery disks is solvable if you boot from an XP disc and format the C: partition in NTFS file sistem and when it starts copying files to install the windows stop the installation ( F3 or press the power button for more than 4 seconds.. don't worry you will not sustain disk damage... done it myself with the same notebook for a dozen times ) After formatting the partition C: try recovery again and it will work.
NOTE: for the formatting of the partition you must set the HDD mode from AHCI to ATA witch permits the XP setup utility to "see" the HDD. If it is set in AHCI mode the setup utility for windows XP will not detect youre HDD

if its continually asking for a security key, maybe someone changed it on you without your permission. it can be done by anyone who has a little networking knowledge.
