REFRIGERATOR IS MAKING A BUZZING SOUND, not cooling

>MY REFRIGERATOR IS MAKING A BUZZING SOUND, NOW IT'S NOT COOLING AT ALL. It started 6 weeks ago , I cleaned all the dust and hair from around the fan, compressor and cooling lines. It worked fine for a mo. . Now it runs all the time. Buzzing for 30 sec. still running but not buzzing for 30 to 60 sec. Repeating cycle over and over. 3 yrs. old refrigerator We noticed food was freezing in fridge and thawing freezer. I clean the coils. We left unplugged overnight and was about a month before the issue started again. This time there is an added loud buzz, or hum. The noise lasts about 10 seconds, then stops for about one or two minutes and repeats. now fridge isn't even cold tho. It's 9 years old. It's a Kenmore and I hate Sears & Kenmore!!!!!! Nothing but problems with all our appliances we've bought starting about 2 years in.

You have one of two problems going on. Your fan is spinning at hitting the sides. Or your compressor is shot which seems to be more the problem and even though it is cold the humming sound is a warning for you that the compressor is shot and it is more affordable to replace the fridge then the compressor. Sometimes compressor can cost more then the fridge.

My refrigerator is six years old and for the past two months is making a loud buzzing noise. The frequency has increased over time. What could it be? It's an Amana side by side model ASD2626HE. Sounds like...

Saw your post a week late but the sound could be the start relay on compressor is weaking or if the water is turned off to ice maker the water control valve will try to fill ice maker if the ice make switch is left on and has no water. I will send a manual shortly, Sea Breeze

INTERMINENT BUZZING NOT COOLING

from your description it sounds as if the compressor is not starting up. the buzzing noise usually occurs approx. ever 3-5 minutes and is followed by a click. this indicates either a bad start relay or a stuck compressor. and from the model you listed it is most likely the compressor. if the unit is under 5 yrs old it should still be in warranty thru sears.
