I suggest you run self diag. press [FM/AM] key + [Input mode] key and press the [power/standby] switch.
ps prt = power supply problem
dc prt = shorted output or leakly cap in channel
tmp prt means to hot on heatsink
you'll likely have to measure the resistances of the output FETs to find a short,

Had same problem. Display would read, "Check Speaker Wires". Rear speakers were shorted by a carpet nail. Works fine now.

Use HDMI because they combine picture and sound in one convenient cable. You can buy the cheapy ones because they work the same as the pricey ones with no degradation in sound quality or picture.

Can you be a little more specific about what the fault is and what you are trying to do? Is the machine constantly powering off?
The reset functions are in the ADVANCED SETUP menu which can be accessed by holding down the STRAIGHT button while you turn the power on.
If you can give more specific details about the problem, it will be easier to determine what might need to be reset - rather than resetting the whole unit.
