SOURCE: Quicken launcher has stopped working, how do I
This will occur if you have any very long security symbols -- it happened to me when I entered some of the new option symbols which can run 20 characters or more. I did not check to see exactly how long they can be but editing the security list and reducing them to 15 characters or less solved the problem.

I've tried a million different fixes and cannot figure this one out. please repost if you did....

Sometimes a shortcut gets corrupted. Locate where quicken is located on your harddrive, typically it will be under c:\program files\intuit\ Then look for the launcher. It will end with .exe and make a new shortcut. You can first try double clicking on the file to see if it opens for you before making the shortcut.
If that doesn't work something else may have gotten corrupted and you may have to reinstall the program. I haven't used quicken for a few years so I can't guarentee this but I would check it out: -- Before reinstalling Quicken, if you find you have to, look for where your data files are stored. Unless you've specified otherwise it will probably be somewhere under your User Name in a folder. Rename that folder so it doesn't get overwritten when it reinstalls. Then once it is reinstalled you'll find it made a new folder with the name of the one you just reinstalled. Then it is just a matter of putting the old data in again, hopefully. Not all programs will work that way but many will so you won't loose whatever data you have. Hopefully just making a new shortcut is all you will need to do.
