Boston BA 745

I have a set of Boston BA 745 speakers on my computer, that work fine except I can't isolate the stereo channels. Some of the music instruction CDs I have record the band on one side and the bass guitar on the other. By only using one speaker, you can hear the band and play the bass part yourself. Every other stereo set up I've owned has a simple switch that says "right/left" that lets you do this.

Any suggsetions?

Thanks,

Denver Perkins

I guess I didn´t explain it right. The band comes out of the right speaker. The bass out of the left. I want to turn off the sound of the real bass player, so I can play along with the band minus (so to speak.)

The signal, on the CD is split, band/bass. My computer combines puts both signals and puts the whole thing through whatever speaker I isolate, by whatever means. In other words, I can´t get my computer to deliver a split signal to my and speakers.

Thanks for the suggesion. Maybe there is a program that will break down the various tracks of a CD for you and allow you to select the ones you want to hear.

My Boston Digital BA735 speakers are not working. power is on. cords are correctly placed, volume on comp is not muted

Try to isolate the problem. Connect the speakers to another computer or mp3 player or stereo. Test the speakers for sound making sure all volume switches are on. If they work look to sound settings on your computer.

Boston BA7500G Speakers with no sound.

Well we have eliminated the laptop as a problem,.. that is very good. As far as what the problem with your BA unit is,.. we only know that it does not function with an external device (laptop and mp3 player). you already mentioned that a sound test from the unit plays through all the speakers,. right? With that lets start with the most basic item that will cause this problem,.. the cable that comes from the BA unit and plugs into the laptop or mp3 player. Is the cable plugged into the right place on the BA unit? Does the cable disconnect from the the BA unit? if so, do both ends of the cable look the same or is there 2 ends (maybe red and white) that plug into the BA unit? Please let me know when you can and we can continue troubleshooting this.

I have a new PC with Vista installed. BA 745 do not work.

check to make sure you have the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner. If you do, see if you can move the sound bar up and down. This will verify that you definitely have the right sound drivers installed and they got installed properly.

Make sure you have the speakers connected properly. Here is a setup poster to show you how. Follow this just to be sure

Once you verify this and the sound still doesn't work then it could be a problem with the speakers or the sound card or sound chipset (if you have integrated sound on the motherboard).

To verify whether its the sound card or sound chipset on the motherboard or whether it could be the speakers. Put the speakers on another machine that you know has the sound drivers installed and turn up the sound bard in the operating system thru the speaker icon. If you get sound then its a problem with your other computer. If you still dont' get sound then the sound speaker system is bad and would need to be replaced.
