Canon iP90 only prints blank pages

chances are, the blank cartridge is empty and needs to be replaced. if it is new, make sure the plastic cover is removed from the cartridge, try to remove the ink cartridge and shake it a bit and connect it back, then check your printer settings to verify if it is set to print in blank ink/color.

New it should have warranty, Canon suggests trying cartridge first, at least 3 deep cleanings, still blank you need either printhead or shop to service.

Your printer should have, among its diagnostics tool, one called "Printer Head Alignment". Run it to restore the proper alignment (I believe that the two images you're getting are actually the same image in two different primary colors).

Sounds like the printhead is plugged on the black side. A new printhead is #qy6-0052-000 around $40.00. That model also needs a firmware update to help it clean the printhead better.

Remove the printer from control panel, under installed printers, then unplug the usb cable and reinstall the printer drivers using printer cd, or download from canon support website.

try first changing the cartridge since this printer has no accurate monitoring on ink content. if after changing the ink it still doesnt work try to perform cleaning. it is usually done by pressing the feed button until the light blinks twice then release it to perform cleaning. or by using the printer driver utility found on the taskbar near the clock on the lower right portion of the computer screen.

Have you performed a nozzle test? If one or more of the colors is missing when you do the nozzle test, the printhead itself is likely in need of replacement.

Before considering replacment, perform a clean on the printer. Due to variations between mac and pc, please see your documentation / support files on how to perform the clean on your printer.

After performing the clean, again perform the nozzle check to see if the problem is resolved.

If still not resolved, remove and re-install any cartridges you recently replaced to make certain they are installed correctly.

Actually this just happened to me tonight as well. Fresh color tank doesnt help. Deep cleaning mode doesnt help. Even physically cleaning the input side of the head doesnt work. Cyan just 100% died today, while the other colors continue fine.
Looks like a print head replacement job now, but so far I cant even find anyone selling iP90 parts online.
The iP90 is now getting consistently terrible reviews on Amazon.
