Frozen, broken kenmore fridge water filter

THis last winter, our fridge line froze and the water filter froze and then broke. The end of it, that goes the deepest into the filter housing, broke off inside. Now, we can't get it out and therefore cannot put in a new one. The fridge thinks it has a filter there, so when you turn on the water it just spews out the filter line hole. Any idea how to get this piece out so that we can replace it. It is way in there, and I am assuming it would also need to be turned counter clockwise in order to release it. It is a 1 year old, lovely stainless fridge that now has no water or ice. Please help.

GE Water Dispenser not working

Sounds like the water tank in the fridge section froze and split open causing a leak. Plus, the water feed line to the dispenser has frozen where it runs up through the freezer door- guessing your trimmer line only goes about 5" into the tube?
There is a water line heater kit that GE makes : Refrigerator Heating Element WR49X10173 .
Then, buy two quick disconnects 5/16" and about 10 feet of 5/16" plastic tubing- use the tubing and disconnects to replace the cracked water tank and you should be good to go... Refrigerator Water Line 5210JA3004K

Water Filter Frozen

Air blowing directly on things like a water bottle has frozen it solid ( in the REFRIGERATOR SIDE! -- Block airflow BUT... I think the problem is YOU NEED TO CLEAN ( blow out with air!...the ONLY WAY) YOUR CONDENSOR COILS ( in the back, outside...behind the cardboard cover nowadays) Your fan has to run too long ( because refrigeration is the "removal of heat"...this is what those coils do but they are insulated with dust!)...too long blowing to achieve the same temp result = Frozen Stuff

Kenmore Coldspot refrigerator Model #57282791 no water from dispenser

When was the last time you changed the fridge water filter. Sounds like its blocked if no water is coming out of the hose at the bottom front. Also depending on the fridge design two other culprits are possible.the electric switch that is pressed that cativates the water valve to open and let water pass and the second the water valve itself. I would lean toward the water valve at the back of the fridge, as you said it was getting worse over time u til it just stopped.

Water frozen in ice maker tube

Melt it with a hair dryer or sometimes you can speed it up if you pull unit forward and try to pull frozen tube out back and unhook the plastic tube running to it. Then it can be cleared in a minute by running hot water on it in the sink and reinstalling ((may have to collapse end with tape while installing, then remove tape) Usually the problem is a faulty water valve not completely sealing allowing water to drip which is why tube is froze up. May last a couple of months by just cleaning out tube. Water valve may also become a more serious problem, but not usually.(put a filter on line to fridge if you have hard water)

Water not working, does make ice

I have the same problem, and from what I had read from others, the water line freezes inside of the freezer door. I took a hair dryer and warmed up the front of the door and that solved the problem for a while, then it froze up again. Apparently GE fixed the problem in future units by adding additional insulation in the door

Water line broken for Kenmore refrigerator near compressor

Cut off a piece of line and go to a good hardware store, they can show you how to fix it. Need a coupling, and a nut and ferrel. House water line goes on one end of coupling, nut and ferrel on the broken water line on fridge. A good hardware store will be able to show you how to fix.

No water from dispenser

I could not locate any white tank where the water comes to/from. There is only a clear plastic water line behind the crisper drawers, that is coiled up and goes up to the water filter at the top on one end, and down through the bottom of the fridge on the other. The coiled line seemed like perhaps it was frozen, so I took a hair dryer to that but it didn't help. I also tried removing the cardboard cover in the bottom back of the fridge, to see if perhaps the white tank was back there, but it was only
more line, which goes towards the front of the fridge, where it goes up into the corner of the door.

Kenmore 50222000 help me please

I can offer a suggestion. It sounds like you have a plugged defrost drain line. This is where the water goes to in the bottom of your freezer when it goes through the defrost (removal of ice from the freezer coil) cycle. It sounds like that hole is plugged and now the water/ice has now frozen in the vent that lets air circulate down into your refrigerator compartment. What I usually do in this case is to unplug the refrigerator, empty out the freezer compartment. Usually I also end up either pulling off the back panel or the bottom panel (in the freezer compartment) Looking for that defrost drain hole and thawing it out with a heat gun (be careful of melting plastic) or actually I use a hair dryer. I can sometimes do this also by pouring small amounts of HOT tap water onto it and then sopping/absorbing it away with a sponge or dishcloth. I repeat this until I get the water to go down the drain tube
