Dremel model 395 went dead after a total of 25hrs use over 3years

I was routering a slot with my router Model 395 for the tambour door in the breadbox I am making for my daughter. The router went dead as if someone had pulled the plug . I tried it in another plug and nothing. Can you tell me if the 395 Model is still under warranty and if so where should I take it The last time I had a problem which was 3 years ago I took it to a place in Scarborough, Ont. and they replaced it..I have used this one at the most 25 hours. However, if it is no longer under warranty I will go to Sears or Home Dept and buy get a new one. Please let me know re Warranty and if so the exact address that I should take it.

Hello I am a woodworker also so I admire your project for your deaughter.

Your dremel 395 had a two year warranty. I would recommend that you get a new one or even a newly reconditioned one as the cost of the repair will be over 60 dollars. let me know what u decide to do......happy woodworking either way.

I own a Dremel model 395 type 5 variable speed and it suddenly stopped working. I was wondering if it was common for the switches to go bad or if it's known for other parts to cause it not to turn on.

I would recommend going to Dremel.com and asking their tech section about this. I have one also and mine works fine other than a small amount of heat at the spindle area.

Switch

Definitely not Home Depot. Try googling 'dremel model 395 switch', you'll probably come up with something. If not, there's always dremel themselves. This is a current model so there shouldn't be any real problem getting parts.
Sorry, don't know about installation, but I can tell you most of these dremels are real easy to fix in general, not complicated at all.
