Whirlpool calypso takes very long

The countdown clock is very slow. Says 25 minutes remaining for last 4-5 hours. Machine seems like it is about to start, then stops and restarts. Service call was made and they found no issue. Intermittent problem.

Could you possibly supply a model number and serial number. This will help greatly in determining the cause of your problem.

Code LS=Lid Switch. I had the same problem and found that if you pressed down firmly on the lid when closing I would not get the LS code. An uneven load will sometimes cause enough vibration to the lid to stop the washer and display the LS code again. Just lift lid and press down firmly again and start. Eventually I will open it up and adjust the switch.

Buy a new machine. We purchased ours from Sears 4 years ago, thank goodness we purchased the extended warranty, as Sears has been out numerous times to repair. In January 08, Sears replaced the pump only after they forced us to sign a waiver before they would even touch it, because my washing machine sits in a drain pan and they didn't install the drain pan. We signed the waiver (I need my washer) and the tech destroyed the drain pan and my my floor, basically she forced me to give her permission to do so. February 08 the extended warranty expired, June 08 the pump quit working again and Sears only warrantys part replacement for 90 days. BTW - the previous Whirlpool calypso model and Kenmore had a class action suit against them. Sounds like the newer models owners should do the same. Sears techs even told us to get rid of it. We bought a new one from Home Depot...

SOURCE: Whirlpool Calypso stops at 26 minutes and throws ob code

first you need to clean your washer
run the washer with no clothes; add 1 cup vinegar, that will cut the soap residue from the hoses do this on hot wash hot rinse

then when you wash your next load of clothes; fill the tub about 1/4 full, add the soap, turn the agitator to disolve the soap, then add the clothes

this problem happens also if you are using too much soap or a heavy duty soap such as Tide.

LG WT4970CW, time seems twice as long as indicated on countdown timer, I timed it and wash started at 54 minutes counting down, 20 minutes later timer was at 47 minutes is this normal, came with house

Not sure but I think it is normal, not even sure it is a countdown timer - illustration shows just a single large knob which presumably is the main programme selector, which is basically an electric clock that keeps pausing whenever the washer is busy filling, heating, etc. and moving on when it is time for the next function.

Modern cold fill, water economy washers tend to take much longer to complete a cycle with the shortest programmes taking more than an hour...

Setting the Time:
Pull out the crown to position 3.
Rotate the crown to set the exact time.
Ensure that you are in the daytime12 hour segment by allowing the hands to pass 12 o'clock and notice if the date moved on or not.
If the date changed, then you will need to advance at least 2 hours before moving on to set the date.
If you do not need to change the date, return the crown to position 1.

Setting the Date:
DO NOT DO THIS IF THE WATCH IS BETWEEN 8pm & 2am
Pull crown to position 2.
Rotate the crown clockwise to set to the correct date.
Return the crown to position 1.

Setting the Alarm [12 hour]
Pull the crown to position 2.

Press the 4 o'clock button to move the central timing hand successively to the desired countdown time.
Wait 3 seconds for the watch to automatically exit the setting mode.
You can change the duration of the countdown [except in the last minute] at any time.
e.g. If the countdown is set to 10minutes, and you now want to change the countdown to 9 minutes, press the 4 o'clock button. The hours/seconds counter sub-dial will perform one complete turn and then stop at 60, before continuing.

Resetting the Hands:
If the hands do not zero correctly, which might occur after a battery change or a violent shock, you can make adjustments by doing the following settings as long as the countdown is not in operation.
To correct the hour/seconds counter sub-dial, pull the crown out to position 2 and wait 1 second.
Press either the 2 or 4 o'clock button; the central timing hand will turn and stop [not necessarily at 12].
Press the 2 o'clock button to increment the hours/seconds counter sub-dial hand to position it at 60.
To correct the central timing hand, press the 4 o'clock button to increment the hand to the 12 position.
Return the crown to position 1.

If the battery had been replaced, the central timing hand defaults to the 10 minute position. If the battery had not been replaced, the central timing hand will return to the previously set position.

Error 4E + timer countdown is delaying

When error message 4E is displayed, you should clean the water hose mesh filter. To do this:

1. Turn off the water source to the washing machine.
2. Unscrew the hose from the back of the washing machine.
3. With a pair of pliers, gently pull out the mesh filter from the end of the hose and rinse it under water until clean. Also clean the inside and outside of the threaded connector.
4. Push the filter back into place.
5. Screw the hose back onto the washing machine.
6. Turn on the faucet and make sure the connections are watertight.

Also, please check the following:
• Make sure the source water faucet is turned on.
• Check the water pressure.

Clock and timer on Whirlpool GH7155XHS micro/hood are running slow. Clock loses about 10min/hr and kitchen timer countdown is slow.

I've just fixed a very similar problem with a 10-yr-old NEC microwave oven.

Disconnect AC power, take the top cover off, go through the unit and tighten all screws, particularly those connecting ground wires to the chassis and those fixing major components like the power transformer and magnetron to the chassis.

Chimes are nine minutes slow

Take the minute hand off and turn hand over. There is a brass bushing that attaches to the aluminum hand. Take a small screw driver and place in the square hole of the brass bushing. Turn either direction and test on the minute post of the clock. Keep adjusting until the clock chimes right on the 1/4 hour position. Make sure to put the hand back on the right 1/4 hour.
