I need to receive over the air digital signals for my small tv in the kitchen. I have it hooked up to a digital/analog converter (dtv pal plus). When I have my rabbit ears hooked to the ''pal'' I can pick up two local stations but not very well so I decided to purchase an indoor antenna. I bought a Belkin PureAV indoor HDTV antenna w/booster. When I disconnect my rabbit ears and hook up the Belkin antenna and go through the setup, it finds no local stations.
In the Pal book it states ''Compability: The HDTV Antenna is specially designed for TVs with a built-in HDTV tuner or with set-top HDTV receiver. Does this mean I cannot use this antenna with the Pal and Magnavox tv? If I can't, what kind of indoor antenna can I buy to be able to pick up local stations. Thanks
I have found most of these indoor antennae to be ineffective and a waste of money, however, I do not know anything about this particular antennae. I to have a Dish DTVpal, which I love! It's ugly and probably won't fit in your kitchen, but the best solution is to make your own "bow-tie" antennae, mount it indoors or on the roof and run a cable to the kitchen. Directions can be found on You-Tube. I live in SE Idaho (Pocatello) and can get 13 channels, most without having to adjust the antennae.
