I forgot to purge the line after replacing the filter with bypass and icemaker stopped making ice. Icemaker seems to be working properly as it is running, so I think maybe the water line is frozen where it releases into the icemaker. I've tried thawing it with a hairdryer with the fridge unplugged. I got it fairly warm in there with the fridge unplugged, plugged it back in and noticed that the water line that is exposed on top of the fridge filled back with water (there was an air pocket in the line when I started). Do you think I did not thaw it long enough? Can you provide feedback regarding removing the icemaker to physically clear the line? Please advise. Thank you.

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice
Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.
The ice maker is producing ice poorly
When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.
First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

It sounds like it is not defrosting. Could be the heater, terminator, or the defrost timer. There is still ice built up behind the wall and won't take long for it to stop working again.

It might be the compressor making the noise.If it is,the compressor will start/stop frequently.This means that it is tripping on overload due to mechanical damage.Only way to solve this prolem is to replace the compressor (if the freezer is still in a good condition).

I see that your Frigidaire refrigerator, FGHB2866PF, is not making enough ice. When is the last time you changed your filter? It is recommended to change your filter every six to nine months. If the filter is dirty the icemaker will not produce. You may also have a frozen water line and you can perform a manual defrost in order to clear out the line. To manually defrost your line you would need to disconnect power from it for at least three to four hours. If that does not correct your issue you may need to have a professional technician out to perform a diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt
