The screen won't go past the opening screen "Binatone Carrera". I've tried the reset button, to no avail. The device is a Binatone Carrera X350. Do you have any thoughts on how to repair this? Thanks, Simon

I have tried this remedy, but it does not work. This model does not have a "power button", it only has an on/off switch. Also, it does not have an sd card. It has a slot for one, but no card.

It does not have an accessible battery. The only way to get to a battery would be to completely dismantle the device!

No. It's just over 14 months old.

remove the battery, then install it back again. then try to turn the power again.

  • Anonymous May 28, 2009

apparently, I am aware of that, as you know removing the battery will reset to its factory setting. however, as what you have mentioned, it needs to be dismantled and you cannot do that. May i ask, is it a brand new unit?

i see that, if its still covered by the warranty, that is the best way to do to bring your gps to your retailer and ask about the accredited service center and have it check with them, to check further the software error.

I have problem with my Binatone Carrera x350SB

Here's a url the site for your device:-

http://binatone.com.au/gps/products-x350sb.php

Click on the support tab at the top, you should see options for downloads for updates, upgrades and instructions.

In your place I'd first make sure the device is fully charged, turn on then (pictured in the instructions) press and hold in the reset button for a slow count of 15, release and let it go through the reset procedure.

After this, its a case of updating the firmware and/or contacting the support staff.

My car Navigator system is Binatone Carrera X350P I was told @ time of purchase that upgrading of maps was free. The web site refers one to TomTpm - with maps for sale - even when opened under Free Maps.

The software for Binatone Sat Navs is not free. You could always contact the retailer if they mis-sold this item to you. Alternatively, for an update call/email Binatone and they will send an SD Card to you for around £32.99.

When i switch my x350 on it just comes on with binatone carrera with the black background and then it wont come on ,any suggestions

If the Sat Nav is under 12 months old and you have the receipt, this will be resolved for you by Binatone by calling 0845 345 9677. If it is over 12 months old or you do not have the receipt they can still resolve this for you by installing brand new software and uploading the latest maps for £32.99. It is well worth it as this gives you the absolute latest maps available therefore newer than the ones in the shops!
