What metals do not set off a metal detector?

Non-Ferrous metal is non-magnetic metals (copper, aluminum, brass, lead, etc.) It will take approximately 50% more of a non-ferrous metal to be as detectable as a ferrous metal. Manganese is also a non-ferrous metal and difficult for most metal detectors to detect. Elenco Metal Detector With Beep Alert Review Detectorly

Do belts set off metal detectors?

Belts aren't permitted through airport security because their metal clasps set off the metal detector. However, even if you are wearing a belt without a metal clasp, an agent might request that you remove it anyway. It's standard procedure. https://detectorly.com/best-under-water-metal-detector

How do i set my green youth metal detector to only to coins

u cant set these for only COINS but u can use the u can exclude unwanted or limit these with the anolog controller settings.. it can be good and bad though..if u set it to discriminate to high..u will then take the chance of excluding smaller items.. to low and u then get cross signal issues and dig up lots of junk.. best to learn the way it behaves with diff kinds of metals and at diff depts so u dont miss out on that one chance to hit it big..

When out hunting with a metal detector, you could come across more junk than treasure. You may detect and dig up rusty nails and bottle caps in the hope of finding coins or other valuables. To resolve this issue, most detectors are equipped with a discriminator. Setting the discrimination level allows you to distinguish between good and bad tones when hunting for specific metallic objects. One of the most effective ways to use your discriminator is with a technique known as reverse discrimination.

I am going to buy myself a metal detector. Should I get one with automatic/ preset detectors or a manual one?

That's a really good question. Manual settings on detector for discrimination can increase the depth at which things are detected, but if you get the settings wrong, you probably won't find much, so it's a risk. I think that for less experienced users, automatic detector settings are the best solution a it reduces the likelihood of making mistakes.

Can you buy one metal detector that does all different types of detecting?

In most cases, one metal detector will do it all except for specialized situations. So nugget detectors and underwater ones wont be good for more geneal detecting.

Precison Gold metal detector instructions for use

I still think you can't rely too much on metal detector. Well, metal detecting is far more difficult than you think. Besides owning a good metal detector, the most important thing is that you should be very patient. Because you will find much more scraps than treasures.
