HP printer error 49:
Error [b][i][u]49[/u][/i][/b] is [b]'Firmware Error'[/b].
[i]Firmware[/i] is the built-in software on the printer's electronics.
In layman's language, your printer's brain has become confused.
Here are several steps you can try, to hopefully clear the error:

Causes of the error can vary, including but not limited to:
electronic failure, power surges, strong EM fields, static, corruption, etc.
First, if you don't have one already, suggest you invest in a socket or multiplug outlet with a built-in '[b]Surge-Arrestor[/b]'.
A good, updated AV is also a necessity to safeguard against cyber-attacks (see [i]corruption[/i] above).
