Hello gc0273,

Make sure that both radios are using the same Interference Eliminator Code. The situation you describe sounds like one radio has a Interfernce Eliminator Code activated and the other radio does not.

To access the Interfence Eliminator Code setting on this radio press and hold the MENU button until the code starts to flash, then use the + or - keys to adjust the setting and press the PTT to save it.

Best Regards

SOURCE: hi there i have a strange icon in one of my radios

The icon you are describing is the "roger beep" icon. It would not be the reason your radio is not transmitting. Most likely your programming has been changed. Here is a link to the manual where you can read how to program the radio's frequency and interference eliminator code. http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T5320_T5410_T5420_User_Manual_E.pdf

Roger Beep/Talk Confirmation Tone
When you turn on this feature, your two-way radio transmits a unique tone when you
finish transmitting. It’s like saying “Roger” or “Over” and lets others know you’re
finished talking.
• To enable Roger Beep/Talk Confirmation Tone, press and hold + (plus button) as you turn
your radio On. Now, when you release the PTT button, your set tone lets your
friends know you’re finished talking and will appear on the display.
• To disable the Talk Confirmation Tone feature, turn your radio Off and then back
On while pressing and holding the + (plus) button.

SOURCE: I BUY 2 WAY RADIOS MOTOROLA XU2100 OFTEN BUT

1) Clean all your battery contacts with a pencil eraser. This includes the contacts on the charger (if a drop-in style), battery and the radio.

2) Check your battery date code. It is a 4 digit number on the white portion of your battery. The first two numbers are the year, followed by the week of the year. (Example: 0946 would be 2009 the 46th week.) Your battery pack should be less than 2 years old to work correctly.

3) Check to see you are using the correct charger. The XTN style charger should have a white label on the cord indicating it is for the XTN radio.

You most likely have batteries which are failing or shorted out. It would be advisable to remove them from the radio and replace them with new batteries. Continued charging of shorted/bad batteries will damage your radio.

Best regards.

Outdoor Temperature Transmitter not working

Sometimes, you have to remove all the batteries in the transmitter and receiver and wait a few minutes before the next step.

Then you replace transmitter batteries first and within 30 seconds, get the batteries installed in the receiver. This allows the receiver to link up with your transmitter. Both units need to be reset this way. You'll see the temperature and any other information the transmitter provides come up in a few minutes. This works with my La Crosse weather station. Using the reset buttons without removing power will not work. My nieghbour has a weather station from another manufacturer and this is also the only way that his will link up.

My Midland walkie talkie quits transmitting about 3 seconds after I start transmitting

It is more likely a power issue. PTT switches do not normally cause a short circuit. Check the batteries, swap the batteries and see if that helps. Radios take a great deal more power to transmit than turn on or receive. If not the battery, try a low voltage battery, such as a cordless phone battery. If it still occurs, check your warrany and send it back to the factory.

My hr2600 shows error 3 when it is keyed up and does not transmit

0 = Transmitter Timeout timer has timed-out
1 = Transmit Frequency is lower than TX Lockout Lower Limit
2 = Transmit Frequency is greater than TX Lockout Higher Limit
3 = Phase-locked-loop (PLL) won't lock at this transmit frequency
4 = PLL is intermittently coming out of lock during transmit
*If your radio displays error 3 or 4, don't keep trying to transmit on this frequency. The cause of the problem could be low power supply voltage to the radio or the radio's VCO loop needs adjustment. Refer to a qualified technician for service. Contact the installer of the chip first. If, however, you installed the chip yourself, contact a qualified technician for service.

How do i make the walkietalkie transmit continuously

Most two-way radios will not transmit continuously. They have built-in time-out-timers to protect the reference oscillator/power amplifier. Most timeout timers will kick in after 60-120 seconds.
A few FRS radios were designed with a baby monitor feature. This would be the exception to the above statement.

Best regards.

Cobra 200gtl High Power Transmit problem??

Depending on the type of power supply, radio frequency (RF) energy from the transmitter may be 'fooling" it into thinking that you're overloading it. Check to see if there's any discernible dimming of the meter lamp when this problem occurs, if so, the supply is the culprit.

Otherwise, its probable that the final amplifier transistors are overheating, either they are 'leaky' or not properly attached to the heat sink.

Remote Sensor

make sure your time is set and the atomic clock time is recieved, then leaving the rear cover off of the transmitter, push the "tx" button not the "c/f" that is just for centegrade or ferenhight. you will see the red light on the front of reciever flash in a few seconds. The temp should display on your clock screen. If not, did the red l.e.d. light on transmitter flash. If not, its not sending data to clock. I have to reset and hit transmit every time I replace batteries on transmitter. Had no problems for over 2 years of using outside. If your not getting a reading with transmitter sitting next to clock after hitting "tx" button you may have defective transmitter.
