Step 1
Check your device for a sticker with the passkey printed on it. Typically headsets and car stereos have the passkey printed on a small sticker attached at the rear of the device.
Step 2
Look in your device's instruction book to see if the passkey is written inside. Each device has a unique passkey, so the passkey for your device will typically be printed on a sticker or inserted into your instruction book, as opposed to in the directions themselves.
Step 3
Check the Bluetooth menu for your device. Cell phones and computers often have their passkeys within the Bluetooth menu. Look for the "Pairing Code" or "Passkey" option. Some laptop computers generate a random code each time you need it, so you may have a option for this task.
Step 4
Check in forums for your particular device to see if someone has posted the passkey. Typically a search for your device and "Pairing Code" will bring up information regarding the code or where you might successfully find it.
Step 5
Call customer service for your device if you can't find the passkey printed on the device, in the instruction book or in the menu. Customer service should be able to either tell you the passkey for your device or give you detailed instructions on how to find it.
