Sounds like your relay is going out lights stay on for about three minutes then go out is normal but for them to stay on is not .make sure your dash dimmer switch is in correct position also you can before you go in turn lights on then off that will reset timer.

SOURCE: Parking lights come on and stay on intermittently when the car is off and no keys are in the ignition

MSchmdt1702 I just fix this problem. I had to replace the switch that the turn signal handle plugs into. The switch cost about 450 from the dealer. I'm sorry I can not remember what the exact name of the part. If I find it I will post it

SOURCE: When driving the olds Intrigue and the engine will

It's when the security light starts flashing that the infamous "chip" in the key becomes a nightmare to many.
Gradually the car begins not cranking anymore or if it cranks it would start and die in a second. Randomly it will
do this more and more often until it won't start anymore. VATS, PASSkey and Passlock immobilizer systems are
killing cars all over North America, they have a short lifespan and are certainly more effective against owners
than thieves. Here is how you save your car
1st trick, (if not starting) turn the key forward 2 clicks till right before it would normally start, leave like
that for 10 minutes. ( no less ) After 10 minutes, turn key back then forward and your car might start. I did this
in my regal for more than a year. If its shutting down while running, im sorry i have no quick fix... If anything
on this page helps you, please remember to comment or give me a thumbs up on the myfixya sight so i can have a
better rating to help more people on this. Thanks

Cheap fix: Bypass the chip in your key. Temporary, but effective. Until the TDM (theft deterrent module) in the
dash poops out, then you're kinda screwed. I was told that these types of key security systems have a 7-10 year
life span. Sucks for us. This link explains the "Key Issue" pretty well.
----- http://vats.likeabigdog.com/

Never worry again fix: Bypass the whole VATS/Passlock/passkey I or passkey II system entirely. Literally take it
out, and throw it away. I just did this in my Regal. Took about an hour. Took longer to find the thing than it did
to fix the problem. They sell a unit for 200 bucks to totally bypass this system FOREVER. life time-money back and
all that. Finally did this in my car. Well worth the 200 if you've looked into getting this replaced... Anywhere
from 600-1000 bucks. If you do buy this, please purchase it thru this link. The cost is the same, but i get credit
for the sale and im trying to earn my money back, as you will be able to do if you buy fron NewRockies and join the
free affiliate program. Thanks
----- http://newrockies.ca?ap_id=judd0081 need it
----- With this fix, you can take that whole Vats, passlock, passkey system out of your car all together. Good info
on both sites.

It works for:
Any GM or Isuzu Vehicle with VATS or PASSKey or PASSLock security systems.
If your car has the chip in the key or in the lock cylinder, then you can save it with this Full Bypass.

2005 buick lacross parking lights will not turn off

The park lamp relay contacts are stuck shut ,probably ! Do you know where the rear fuse box is ? Under the back seat . Check the relay first , if that's not the problem then the vehicles BCM maybe at fault .
The body control module (BCM) controls the park lamp relay through the park lamp relay control circuit. The BCM grounds the park lamp relay control circuit which energizes the PK LP relay.

I have 98 toyota corolla ce and the headlights stay on everytime i turn the engine on...my question is how can i turn them off in the daytime???

In Canada it's mandatory to have DRL(Daytime Running Lights). Your Corolla probably has this feature built in. it is a safety thing however I can understand you wanting them off if it's not the law where you live.
In our 1998 Corolla, I use the parking brake all the time - every time I park - and I've noticed the lights do not come on until I release the parking brake after starting the motor. When I park the car, until I shut off the engine, the lights stay on regardless of the parking brake status however, if I shut off the engine and restart with the parking brake on, the lights do not come on.
If you "adjust' the parking brake switch(i.e.: make e-brake light in your dash it stay on all the time) your lights will not go on until you turn them on via the multifunction lever(left side of wheel). This of course negates the benefits of the e-brake light working correctly (warning you that your e-brake is on or that your brake fluid level is low) which in itself is not so safe!
There is a fuse/relay (I think) in the big fusebox under the hood that has a DRL "spot", you might want to check if you can remove it and still turn the lights on manually when you want them on. Alternately, there is a fuse in the interior fuse box(in Canadian models anyway) labelled DRL. When that fuse is out, it seems the lights only turn ob when I turn them on manually.
Hope this helps and God bless,
Gilbert

Parking lights and dash lights won't shut off

The park lights staying on indicates the switch is deteriorating.
I would replace it.
The door locks is probably a voltage issue. With the cold weather, the locks need more voltage to unlock. They get that voltage when the engine is running. If you really want the locks to work without the engine, you might try accessing the locks and cleaning them. Then use a lightweight grease, like lithium grease, to help them open with less power.

99 dodge caravan parking lights stay on after engine is off.

I had the same problem on my Chrysler Sebring but it was with the headlights staying on. The lights are on a relay called a "delay relay" of which will allow the lights to stay on for a minute after shutting off the ignition (after using your lights let's say when its dark). This of course helps provide light for you to see to walk to your house, keys, etc. But sometimes these relays stick on and just need to be replaced.
